As usual, Alastair Crooke's analysis is thought provoking and always worth reading. In the below article he argues that what is happening in Syria re the Iran presence there is the "next phase of the Chinese-Russian strategy for containing the US policy of seeding hybrid disorder – and of pouring acid in to the region’s ‘open wounds’." http://theduran.com/will-trumps-hawks-dare-to-risk-israel-2/
Or maybe, just maybe, Israel could try negotiating in good faith for once, and ceasing its campaign of aggression and expansion in the region.
It's a very interesting situation developing, honestly I think Syria & Iran was pushed into a corner with Golan really the only good option for them. I don't see Israel negotiating on this issue, for two main reasons; 1. the rich, powerful and greedy won't let them. They have their tentacles into the Golan for oil, body count is a requirement for lining their pockets 2. It's in Israels interest to keep Syria from accessing this resource The spanner in the works I think will be H.R. 1004, because this will clip the wings of "rich and greedy", currently embedded in the Trump Administration, however who knows how far they can reach into congress... I think it will be very telling exactly how much influence they do have, if HR1004 is passed and congress still agrees to military action.
If Israel is attacked, the U.S. will respond. No doubt. Is Syria looking to lose more land like they did in 1967?
Naive. Israel has negotiated in good faith, giving the Palestinians almost everything they wanted (except the dissolution of Israel). And the Palestinians walked away.
