    I'm not worried a bit.

If my Social Security check stops, it will mean that things have gotten so bad that money will be the least of my worries.

You should be more concerned about your banks. There might be a run on them.

I feel pity and concerned for any American who's financial security is based solely upon the government and/or the US dollar.

I have a simple solution--pay the retirees first and the *cough cough* "disabled" with whatever is left since the gap is only about 4%

Damn, just too many people who managed to live long enough to collect. I could collect today, but I'm waiting to 66 (hopefully).

If the shutdown achieves the purpose of reigning in the out-of-control spending of the Liberals I'll be perfectly happy to do without my Social Security benefits. That government threat doesn't faze me in the least.

When I heard of the first two bank failures in CA six years ago I took my money out of the banks and what I have invested is safe and paying better than bank interest anyway.

I'm capable of taking care of myself and assisting a few extra elderly who haven't planned well or have had bad luck. Good people everywhere can do the same. Those dependent on the system can go ahead and struggle because I've lost my interest after years of working to help them.

In fact, I'll just chalk that up to another broken promise by this Administration.

My best friends GF in Arizona has a father that is this and makes me ridiculous angry...

Guy hurt himself on duty as a cop in Chicago (something involving a manhole) and got his salary for life as disability.

The guy reps on the bench press 245 lbs and does 3 or 4 marathons per year.

I can't even look at the guy....

I never said one thing about paying them or not. You are the one who put them all in the same box. Of course there are many who don't need to be on it, but you are the one who made a blanket statement at the beginning.

turn him in. The feds do go after people like this, if federal funds are involved. We've had several cops in DE wind up on the wrong side of the walls for doing this kind of thing.

Of course you will. The SS funds are all safely tucked away in a separate account, a sort of lock box*. How could that be violated? It can't. Big Fed would never screw around with such a sacred trust.

Clearly, the disabled social security benefits is a problem. To say otherwise is silly.Never said All of them were a problem, simply that the area is a problem. You take it how you would like, I cant control that!

So what do you want to do with them...my original question BTW? Yes, you did, you made a blanket statement that included all of them. THE DISABLED. Now you want to move the goal posts.

Lol . Let's say a baseball team sucks. Do I single out all the sucky players or do I say the team sucks ?

Let's say a education program has an average of 1.4 gpa returns , do I single out each bad person or day the program overall sucks ?

What's your problem with that ? Is it not PC enough ?

Anyways , I would raise requirements for the acception level.

Yeah. My 89-year-old mother should get her lazy butt off the couch and get a job. Right?
