Grody’s boss, Lucky Devil Lounge owner Shon Boulden, stumbled on a solution. Following Gov. Brown’s edict, Boulden tweeted that though the restaurant/strip-club would have to close, they were working on how to keep their employees working, and he joked that he would provide a service where the dancers would deliver food topless. When customers started asking him if he would deliver to their area, “I was like, ‘Holy ****, this may be something that actually works,’ ” he says.

From this tweet, Boober Eats was born. For a $30 delivery fee — a sum is split between the club employees — customers can order a burger and fries (or a salad, or a steak, or any variety of dishes) to their homes, where two dancers will show up accompanied by a driver/security guard. Equipped with masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers, the dancers deliver food to the customer’s doorstep, within the six-feet guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Even in times of severe crisis, we need stories like this to keep us from complete despair.

Shon Boulden for POTUS, 2024.... Somebody who can come up with ideas like this should probably be running the country, not 2 out-of-touch old white guys.

I assume this won't be occurring in the Bible Belt, although it would be a lot warmer for the delivery girlz...

I'm pretty sure they aren't touching the food... It's delivered in bags. If you were already used to eating at a "strip joint/restaurant", I'm guessing you aren't a real picky eater.

That's true about the economic hit... after the first couple of fun paragraphs, the OP article does briefly discuss the situation of those industries in general with the virus...

Thanks for pointing that out... I meant to, but I was still enjoying these people turning lemons into lemonade (even if watered down a bit)..

Can't really blame Trump for most of that however.... Women have turned to jobs like that since the beginning of time... and Trump has personally done his best to keep many of those jobs on a paying basis much of his life...

There are certain "risks" (involving "screening" potential clients for safety) that are relaxed when prostitutes get more desperate for money.

Which is happening now, with potential clients also being financially strapped.

Lowering prices, agreeing to unsafe sex acts, etc.

Many strippers (who hadn't previously been involved in that end of the industry) are now resorting to prostitution.

And, of course, every creep in the world is waiting to pounce (and prey) on these girls (in the face of increasing desperation).

Totally Messed-Up (beyond belief). Fubar on steroids.:smh:

 

What cooties? How are their bodies any more or less risky around food than the meth-head, toothless, nasty men and women working at most fast-food places?

But when HuffPost spoke to him late last week, he was working overtime to juggle media requests and prepare for another weekend of “Drive Thru Food 2 Go-Go,” a drive-thru version of his club Lucky Devil Lounge that he recently launched ― to lines around the block.

Here’s how the new drive-thru works: You pay $30 to enter and can order any food item off the menu. Once inside the tent, you’re treated to a full show, from a group of (masked, of course) dancers. They do a song or two for each car, and then they send you on your way with your food. There are tip buckets set up inside, and the dancers even have devices normally used to collect trash that allow them to collect tips from a distance.
