Woman divorces man because all he wants to do is play video games

Yeah maybe he didn't play video games that much but she always made it a flash point and he feels that she would take it just to get under his skin so now he wants to fight for it. Who knows. Could be anything. Or he could be a video game playing loser. Anything is possible.

I have to deal with the public in my current job and sometimes it bothers me. I just wonder why people care so much about this meaningless crap. As a level headed third party it is your job to be the voice of reason. What is going to happen is Blackrook is going to get a client one day that will get obsessed with using some item or custody as a symbol or tool to get back at their husband/wife. They are going to be so obsessed they are going to blow up an otherwise good divorce settlement over some petty vendetta. I mean look at us. There are at least 5 or 6 full grown adults that have talked about this stupid playstation. Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

 

I agree 100%. There really needs to be a common sense approach, instead of just looking out for the client.

 

Actually, I posted this because I thought it was funny that a guy would specifically ask for a TV and a playstation, rather than ask for an equal division of marital property, which is what you would expect. I did not expect all the hostility from you people. Obviously, you are uptight people who can't see any humor in the tragedies of life. And the fact that you look down on me because I do pro bono work tells me you're not a very good lawyer.

 

You tell a story, without getting both sides of the argument. That might be a problem.

It was not my intention to make this thing hostile. I'm sorry you took it that way. Some of us were just so surprised at your certainty regarding this third party. That's all. I deal with stressful situations involving the public and families from time to time and it takes more than what you have presented for me to make a final determination particularly when that final determination is derogatory. Most of the time I have no interest in who the bad guy is and usually it is not germane to what I am doing. In a family law case you are dealing with two people who are most of the time going to be to varying degrees irrational. You are also showing up at the end of the story. This guy's marriage may have fallen apart long time ago and once the financial hard times showed up then the sex dried up. Once the sex dried up the guy was left doing nothing but playing video games and hoping not to get yelled at. Who knows. I've never been married and there is a reason for that. I found your comment about sex immature. I've had relationships with hot women that loved sex. But they were dysfunctional. Sex is not the end all be all of a marriage. And just because it is not occurring doesn't mean that is the main problem. Lack of sex and video game playing may just be the final stage of a long complicated history. Maybe he just got back from three tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Who knows.

Seriously the way people hop in and out of marriages these days why even assume they have a valid reason. Just do your job and get out of there.

 

Some peoples priorities in life are different then yours or mine I guess. Strange but true.

 

I wonder what a woman what be upset over the most; losing her man to another woman, to another man, or to electronic entertainment such as internet porn or video games?

 

I think its odd that people get all wired up and angry when I tell a funny story about my job. Makes me wonder what's going on. Did they have a bad day? Or are they having a bad life?
