The first time Sydney woman Jay Langadinos saw psychiatrist Dr Patrick Toohey she was 19, living at home and identifying as male. It was May 2010. Langadinos wanted to start on masculinising hormones and her endocrinologist had referred her to Toohey to assess if she was suitable for the treatment. According to a statement of claim filed in the NSW Supreme Court in May, the referral letter from Professor Ann Conway said it “seemed likely” Langadinos had “true gender dysphoria”, but she was “very young” and “clearly” needed “thorough psychiatric work-up before embarking on hormone treatment”.The statement of claim alleges that, before recommending hormonal treatment and the surgeries, Toohey “knew or ought to have known” Langadinos required further psychiatric evaluation by him and by a psychiatrist with specialised expertise in diverse conditions. She alleges that he was negligent in not recommending she get an opinion from a second psychiatrist for her hysterectomy. https://www.smh.com.au/national/abs...t-over-gender-transition-20220823-p5bbyr.html This is just the tip of the iceberg. Expect a tsunami of lawsuits about the damage of the voodoo gender affirming care.
It should be common sense from the very beginning that if someone is a girl and wants to be a boy, it's a clear indication that there's a mental instability or chemical imbalance there. That's a given, the doctor probably figured she was a lost cause like everyone else thinks about these things.
a legal-age adult asked for and received surgery. Perhaps it was the cool thing to do at the time or as the article suggests, she is just messed up in the head. She should consider herself a trailblazer and take one for the team. Of course it's a mental illness that should never be treated by hacking apart the body. But, leftists wanted this and leftists now have it
Shouldn’t people in the mental health field help people see reality and not run from it? How much money is there to be made in Big Transgenderism?
That's a good question... It goes hand in hand with Big Pharma and why neither will be shut down anytime soon.
