I remember hearing about this a little bit last week but it seems to have all evaporated I wonder why nobody's talking about it anymore. My thoughts is that it exposes the brokenness of multiculturalism we see it on display and know that it's a farce and people don't want to accept that so we just don't talk about it. And I've been thinking about this for a while now and I think the multicultural types are mono ethical. This is a weapon you can use against them when they start criticizing your religion. That's the real reason we're not talking about it. I remember a fellow being refused access to the stadium because he was wearing an LGBT pride shirt. And he went on to Twitter to talk about human rights as though his culture is superior and that's not multiculturalism. It's essentially picking up the same weapon that the Christians used during the medieval period and swinging it around. I can say that Western culture is superior because it recognizes the dignity of people in the LGBT sexual orientations and it seeks to tolerate and accept them as part of the greater culture. But that goes totally against multiculturalism and suggests that it's flawed. Does anybody else think about this and why it just vanished? Maybe the world cup is over I'm from the US so I don't watch soccer/kickball so I don't know. But I think this glaring culture clash is a death nail in the multiculturalism casket. See multiculturalism isn't really about multiculturalism it's about monoethical beliefs so you have to get rid of part of your culture that doesn't match up with our ethics. Thoughts?
Well ethics tend to follow the stronger of the moral codes. And there seems to be a lot more strength in the morality when it comes to Islam then with secular humanism I'm not sure secular humanism even has morality.
You’re just confused. The entire premise of accepting other cultures hinges on them accepting other people who don’t agree. You can think abortion or being gay is a sin, but it doesn’t mean you get to throw people off buildings or restrict their rights.
Try being gay in Qatar and see how much you like the “strength” of their morality. It’s easy to have a moral culture if you remove anyone who thinks different. We call them cults.
+ Im sure they would say the same thing about the gay cult...ure taking over here. Totally normal....doesnt look like a cult member at all.
There isn't too much strength in the morality that says anything goes and doesn't stand up for anything when they need to. Either the culture and Qatar is wrong or it isn't
That is an ethic that not all cultures recognize. In order to say that you must say cultures that don't recognize that ethic are unethical, and thus lesser.
