    Sure, Senator Rick Santorum. How can you deny what the Allies have physically recovered? Where did these 5000 gas bombs/shells come from?

    If they were the relatives of the attackers who had aided one of them, sure;

    We don't know that, we don't know what they would have done but in the shock and hysteria of the post Pearl Harbour world no one was taking the chance, especially after the fifth column's role in the conquest of Europe.

    Untrue, the actions of those few Japanese Americans did incalculable damage to their people out of all proportion to their treason.

    “Their people”? American citizens are OUR PEOPLE. It was OUR PEOPLE that son of a bitch fdr threw into concentration camps. Two people before the war who were not in the United States at the time in absolutely no way justifies throwing innocent loyal brave Americans into concentration camps by the hundreds of thousands. For the duration of the war, no Japanese American was ever convicted of sabotage or espionage, which cannot be said of German Americans or Italian Americans who were detained in microscopically smaller numbers particularly when one considers their percentages of the population.

    FDR did so at the admitted behest of Republican governor Earl Warren: https://www.vqronline.org/essay/una...rl-warren-and-japanese-relocation-controversy

    Read Ralph Carr’s notes. Bottom line is still the bottom line. An Executive Order comes from the executive.

    The buck stops at that racist son of a bitch.

    I voted FDR for his role in giving free rein to the soviet in europe over the advice of Churchill, especially Poland and for Pearl Arbor.

    Yes but they weren't convicted because they were already in custody! You have to sympathise with FDR for the terror and panic that followed Pearl Harbour. You must also remember that Italian and German Americans were in far greater numbers, physically indistinguishable from the rest of the population and not based on the West coast where Jap submarines were popping up and shelling California. It was a dark time but no necessarily wrong.

    That is un-American, tyrannical, irrational reasoning. Hard to believe you gave that even a moment’s thought before posting.

    But it's true! This is wartime where the government can not only lock people up without trial but force you to turn your lights out, decide what you eat make common cause with a vile mass murdering dictator and force you to join the forces and duck shrapnel on some godforsaken piece of coral in the wilds of the pacific
