    This is something I’ve wondered before. Let’s say that in an election for the federal senate, two candidates were running, Mark and Jack. Mark is a Nobel laureate in Literature for writing some of the world’s greatest poetry and novels. For the sake of argument, let’s say that you don’t know which party each of them are in.

    Would the prize make you more likely to vote for Mark? Less likely? Neither?

    Considering that they give out Nobel Prizes to people like Yassir Arafat. President Obama got his within the first month of his administration and even he was like "WTF is up with this?" Now the EU even gets a Nobel prize. I am going to have to go with ........... no.

    Arafat deserved it more than Obama or the EU. By miles.

    Oh and no, probably not. I tend to appreciate military expertise in a leader. It would be a different story if we were voting for a speech writer though. Different kinds of intelligence are suited to different professions.
