After following Biden's advice since Dec 2021 which proved to be a very bad idea, V Zelensky has decided to phone Xi. Calling Biden resulted in lots of free goodies, ammunition and rockets, but somehow, being an ally of the US, receiving 110,000 million dollars of weapons from the US alone, and a lot from the rest of NATO, just didn't work out. NATO has 30 times the GDP of Russia, the US alone has 14 times the GDP of Russia and we have spent a lot of that developing and making weapons. The battle with Russia was expected to last 3 weeks. 14 months later and all Zelensky has to show for it is a wrecked country.
V Putin made one demand, and that was that Ukraine would not join NATO. I do not consider joining NATO is an inalienable human right, and nor does NATO, having refused to admit the Russian Federation. To avoid the Ukraine war all that was necessary was for Ukraine to promise not to join NATO and to keep that promise, that was all.
