Should Christians consider altering their prayers to the following "God, please reveal yourself to the non-believers, because I care for them, want them in heaven, and don't want you to torture them for eternity". Your thoughts? Would this be more moral than praying for themselves, which is usually the case currently?
I know a few xians who DO pray to baby jebus to reveal himself (not in a nude way) to the heathens in their orbit. not sure what the ratios are, though. that is to say, no idea if they spent more time praying for heathens to be granted an audience than they do praying for a discount on their home insurance premiums. one chap I know happily admits to praying for convenient parking spaces, and brays like a talking donkey every time he gets one. it hasn't yet entered his seldom used brain that, every time baby jebus gives him a good park, someone else misses out.
How about, "Thank You Master for revealing Yourself through me."? The Lord has said, "The wages of sin is death." So how could sinners get eternal life in some hell? What is the point of torturing people "for eternity"? The Lord said He came that we may have life and have life more abundantly.
well, despite what many are taught, no human would torture forever, in a fiery place called hell, So I wouldn't use that. I know Jesus meant at ,(Matt. 5:29,30 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell), and I know what hell really is ,because research of the origin of this word shows it. I agree I don't want ANYONE to be destroyed, and that's what's going to happen. And I pray at times for those who refuse to even take in true knowledge Jehovah God, (Exo. 6:3), and Jesus as he has said ,(John 17:3). I pray for myself and spiritual family when it comes to our sins and for Jehovah's Kingdom, as Jesus told us to do ,(Matt. 6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven). Jehovah God,(you may not be referring to him), has shown himself by sending his son to to teach us his Father's word ,(John 15:15). and to die for our sins, which could save us ,(John 3:16,17). sadly and realistically , MANY will be destroyed, because they don't want to do Jehovah’s ,(Jesus Father's Will as Jesus said ,(Matt. 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven). And followed him ,(John 17:16 and (Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me). They are more into themselves, than Jesus and his Father. peace
Yeah, Jesus has already come. All we can pray is that may people come to the accept Jesus as their savior. God is a good and just God. I believe he would/has/ will and does reveal himself in some form (through others, or by circumstances that prove that God is God) to all that would have a change of heart if they would change at any point in time.
And that failed to convince billions of people, so if Jesus was indeed all-powerful and all-loving, he's of course return to finish the job and simply EDUCATE the non-believers enough to avoid hell. I would, because apparently I'm more moral and caring about humanity that Jesus. He's not a great role-model, apparently.
