Right now, it is somewhat affordable to raise a permanently, profoundly disabled child because such children can receive medical assistance and often SSI payments as well. When they become too big to manage they are sometimes eligible for group home care or can continue to receive SSI payments.

If you knew you were going to have a profoundly and permanently disabled child WITHOUT the possibility of any public funding or support to raise such a child, and no hope of public funding for this child after it became an adult, would you choose to have an abortion or not?
