If someone gave you a free, legal passport to North Korea today, with all expenses and legal fees covered, would you go there?

Who wouldn't with such amazing tourist attractions??

No thanks, I'm not a progressive socialist. The nations with the most socialism are among the world's worst places to live ---Laos, Vietnam, and North Korea.

Communists should be best known for labor and reeducation camps, or ditches full of executed people.

I would let Obama or Hillary have my ticket to North Korea---one way travel of course.

Know your enemy. I visited East Germany during the old Communist days. Very enlightening.

I fall in this category. I would go, if I knew I would be able to come back.

I think it'd be pretty fun. I'd go to Russia and Mongolia too and make it a long holiday if I could. Not out of any support for the government (I don't decide to visit a certain place because of the politics, ever); just because it'd be quite an interesting place to see, as somewhere so culturally different from where I'm from.

I submit the best view of North Korea would be through the eyepiece of a Norden bombsight.

I'd want to, but not at the risk of getting framed for some crime against the state and then be used as a bargaining chip because I'm American.

I'm a photog, not for $, but for my own use. They would most likely say I'm a spy. So, I will pass on that trip.

But if I was guaranteed to get out of town as scheduled, then I'd go.

I was also there. It woke me up to the danger of communism.

You have to get the feeling of terror one gets by watching men in uniform with machine guns ready to shoot to kill to comprehend terror.

If America cops are bad, you ought to see the then communist cops.

We were WARNED to only enter East Berlin wearing our military uniform. It was pitiful how they lived in Communist lands.

Hey, I served at the time with some who had escaped the communists in Hungary. Joe Nemeth was in my unit and we became pals. Joe was in college in Hungary and tried to free Hungary. When he failed, he was able to escape. Became a US citizen serving in the US Army.

Curiosity. Their culture is so immensely different which makes me want to see it first hand. You got a problem with that? Don't care.

North Koreans are good people. They work with Muslims to give them nukes.

Nope, not interested at all. I've never been interested in vising Asia, the only exception being Japan.

Funny you should mention that. I'll be going there this December. I've only been as far west as Hawaii. Kind of excited about it. I'm especially looking forward to visiting Kyoto. I'll be meeting face to face with people I have chatted with (online) for years.

With the U.S. and North Korea not having good relations, I would not go unless I knew I would return home safely. I honestly would love to visit North Korea just to experience it and to be able to say I went there, but I would worry about not coming back. I hear stories of people being detained, and not coming home and that's a scary thought. My favorite thing to do is to travel. I LOVE traveling. My wish is to be able to travel to every country in the world, but yet I would be very hesitant to visit that country unless I was assured my safety.

Depends on the food, do they have tacos?

    - - - Updated - - -

I'd like to visit a few Asian countries, but studying up on Japan I am really interested in to packing my (*)(*)(*)(*) and moving there. Although getting a job looks like a big challenge.
