IMO it sure would be nice if so many people would get over being "offended"!!!! It is time they got over their 5 year old idea that the world revolves around them. They need to understand that almost everyone is offended by something most every day. Learn to be an adult and learn to live with it. When anyone tells me he or she is "offended", they might as well be wearing a t-shirt saying " I am a whining fool", and am totally immature!!!!!!!!

    Stephen Fry put it well.

“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so (*)(*)(*)(*)ing what."

    Depends.

Are those words coupled with an intent.

When someone says, "I hate purple people." That just shows small mindedness on the part of the speaker.

When someone says, "I hate purple people, and I'm proposing legislation to keep purple people from teaching in schools." Perhaps then when people say,"I am offended by that," they mean, "and I'll do everything I can to stop you."

    Just a thought.

I don't mind people saying they're offended. I'll happily take notice of that, but that's as far as it goes. The problem starts when they expect you to bend over backwards to un-offend them.
But I guess that's what you meant, too.

Yes I agree I'm tired of the whiners that say they can't make a cake for gays because it offends them. Good call on telling those whiners to (*)(*)(*)(*)!
