I am trying to figure out how that makes the weapon more DANGEROUS. it assumes all environments where a weapon might be deployed are exactly the same. Which of course demonstrates a fundamentally ignorant lack of understanding of the use of weapons.

I've seen thousands of guns, and there are several laying around here all of the time, and I have NEVER seen a single one that could "do" anything at all, let alone kill anyone. It takes a person to make a decision to use a gun, rather than fire, poison, a truck, or whatever else. That person then has to load the firearm with ammunition, and transport it to a place where there are people that he wants to kill. Then, that person goes about using the gun to try to kill.
So, I fixed that for you. PEOPLE kill people.

it actually happens more than you would guess-I saw at least 15 assault cases as a city prosecutor where the instrument was a firearm.

 OH Brother....now we are adding an illegal act to make it an assault weapon....you got some stretch there to fit your criteria. But I digress, you were originally saying something about dressing up a gun making it an assault weapon. WOW how far you gonna move the goal posts anyway?
This brings to mind another question I would ask the anti-gun nuts that hope to create misdirection and visceral emotional responses from the uneducated, How many times has that illegal act been performed and then the non-assault weapon used to kill?

LOL you know we could add a magazine extension and custom grips to a semi auto pistol and VIOLA we have an assault pistol......sheesh!

LOL that's funny cause when someone negligently or criminally uses a gun to kill someone they never charge the gun with murder,
When someone negligently or criminally uses a car to kill someone they never charge the car with murder,
When someone negligently or criminally uses a knife to kill someone they never charge the knife with murder,
When someone negligently or criminally uses poison to kill someone they never charge the poison with murder,
I could go on and on but I'm almost sure you will see the error of your comment, eh?

So you own a gun for the possible opportunity of killing.

    - - - Updated - - -

So is a gun used for driving somewhere or is it's only purpose killing?

I've never killed anyone with my gun but I used it to shoot lotsa targets so mine are not for your imagined purpose. I have watched news stories where cars were used to purposely kill other people...they still didn't charge the car. *sigh* and here I thought you would get it.

I own lots of guns. I am blessed, I am rather wealthy and can buy what I want. I also have been a world class competitor in two shooting disciplines and pretty good at several others. So I have all sorts of guns for all sorts of reasons. and some have multiple uses. For example, some of my competition shotguns (such as a browning trap gun I use for ISU (olympic) trap I have used for dove shooting in South America. Some of the pistols I have used in "stock" USPSA or "steel" matches I sometimes have as a home defense pistol. one of my "three gun" competition shotguns is loaded in my home for home defense. I only have a few pistols that are purely owned for self defense-those are small and not much fun to shoot

Why would someone charge a car? This isn't Thomas the Tank engine.

in south america doves are agricultural pests

they are good to eat and challenging targets. So dove shooting is very popular in places like argentina, Bolivia and Columbia. I went to Columbia 10 times between 81 and 95 and Bolivia once. Sadly I was in trials when my late father went to Argentina-he said the shooting there was even better than columbia. At one time I had the Bolivian record for # of doves taken with one case of shells. Then again I was a world class skeet shooter and one hell of a live pigeon shooter

great-another guy who thinks Bambi was a documentary. I guess you prefer the alternative-before Columbia started encouraging dove hunting, they poisoned the doves. I sure hope you don't eat meat, or have leather shoes.

You can't possibly "prove" anything, or get anywhere with your little attack. I know precisely why I have been an avid lifelong gun owner, and I don't have to explain or justify that to you in any way. It is for YOU to learn, and understand the WHOLE thing.

Cause federal persecutors knew that they would lose, thus instead of losing in court and setting a precedent they always settled. It's a very common practice these days.
