Nikki Haley takes new job at ultra-conservative thinktank | Nikki Haley | The Guardian
The former South Carolina governor has accepted a role with the Hudson Institute, a Washington DC-based, ultra-conservative thinktank specializing in foreign policy affairs.

She will become the institute’s Walter P Stern chairperson, a post named for Hudson’s former chairperson who died in 2022. Haley served as US ambassador to the UN during Trump’s presidency and is the fourth member of his administration to join Hudson.

She might very well get the nomination in 2028. Republican history has often been that the runner up in the previous cycle wins the next time.

Trump will be out one way or the other. If he wins, he’ll be term limited. If he loses, there has not been a two time loser who won a major party nomination a third time since William Jennings Bryan in 1908.

This is all factually spot-on. Bryan was the D-nominee in 1896 and 1900, lost both times to William McKinley (who campaigned from the front porch of his house in Ohio, to note) and then again against Taft in 1908.

It would be fascinating to see Haley run again. She is a very intelligent person.

On paper, Hudson institute sounds like a neocons wet dream. Oh well, better than Trump I guess...

I hope so. She's pretty far from me policy-wise, but at least she's respectable. I'd still want the democrat to win, but at least the cost of losing wouldn't be electing a psychopath.

It won't matter. Big Everybody But You are managing our elections. It all about the ballot count now, issues are meaningless nationally. State issues still have leverage with voters. SCOTUS hasn't shown a lot of interest in tightening up elections.

Totally bizarre that any reasonable person would think this is going to happen. How weird.

    wrong..

if trump were to ever hold office again,

after declaring himself a dictator on day one

On day 2 he will be changing the constitution's 22 amendment which says "a president can only serve 2 terms"

That is garbage. You have no idea what Trump will do. You only spread the far left propaganda that the Democrats spout.

And yet, every day, we get constant reminders of what Biden is going to do if he gets re-elected. How horrible it's going to be.

    Should his health cooperate...
When Trump loses in 2024...Trump will definitely run again in 2028...

I believe it was stupid to nominate him this time around. If he loses again, anyone who supports him in 2028 is probably a cretin level IQ

The only two others that I would ever consider voting for would be DeSantis and ramaswamy. I wish to say this have waited till 2028.

Nobody was going to be Trump for nomination. Yeah I think you should hang up his hat after this he is getting up there in years. But he stands a good chance of getting reelected
