That dude was blitzed out of his mind with a BAC of only .301? What a lightweight! I once blew a .395 while stone-cold sober. My speech wasn't slurred, my motor coordination was fine, and my memory was apparently good enough that I still remember the exact number that I got.

...and by the socialist leftards who think that we can just spend ridiculous gobs of other people's money on entitlements without ever worrying about the negative consequences of debt or high taxes.

    Since when?

Not if you shut down what he calls "the welfare-state magnet". Do that and we'll start attracting only the most desirable immigrants, not just masses of people who want to suck on the government teat.

It will mean us Americans will have to compete for bottom level jobs that don't even pay the rent. Folks in other countries work their asses off and get nothing but a meal and a piece of floor to sleep on. I don't want to live like that.

No one wants to live like that. But there is an argument to be made that that condition is the "natural" one we should be living, and that 1st world nations are living above their means by a large amount and SHOULD be living something closer to those conditions. Perhaps the quality of life we have lead for so long is actually a fluke and unnatural and in reality we should all be living a more spartan lifestyle.

We, as a country, should fight that with our laws to try to prevent it from happening.

Not if that pursuit violates another person's free pursuit in seeking the same ends.

I agree with this. The problem is less you got too much government in my corporation than it is you got too much corporation in my government. These are two great tastes that do not taste great together, any direction imo.
