Governor Walker and the Wisconsin Republicans are so afraid of losing the two seats to Democrats that they responded to a court order demanding that they hold a special election by trying to pass a law that would thereby continue to deprive the individuals within those two districts of a legislative representative. Note the timing of the legislative session - April 4th - to change the law such that it prevents any elections to take place after the ordinarily scheduled spring election which, this year, would be....April 3rd.

I think this court order which demands he call for the special election as of this Thursday does effectively prevent that plan from taking place.

The judges are called upon to rule on whether the governor was violating Wisconsin law. That is precisely the type of issue which is their business.

    Ok

I think I have to agree in this particular case

Walker was asking the court to grant an extension

A governor transparently denying the people the right to vote for a representative is exactly the kind of thing that a judge is supposed to put a stop to. The idea is that powerful people are supposed to have limits on their power and face consequences when they abuse their position. They don't because of massive corruption, but that's the feelgood story they tell you in government class in high school.

Honestly, we ought to start jailing politicians who refuse to stop doing shady ****. We ought to be able to gather up into an angry mob, march into their office, and physically force them into a prison cell.
