You say that like you never complained about Obama. I never understood the "logic" behind this sort of suffering Olympics argument. Despite the constant kvetching from Trumpeters, the man is not above scrutiny or criticism. He doesn't get the whole country as his personal safe space.

Trump is not as bad on minorities as the narrative would suggest. He is without question the most pro-LGBT Republican President ever, for instance. 42% of women voted for him, to suggest that he is some sort of rapist insults the intelligence of these women. Allred has done this numerous times before.

How do you think the 42% feel when it's constantly all over the media that they support someone they despise - someone smeared as a rapist and misogynist? Women are supposed to be pro-Hillary in a way that men are not supposed to be pro-Trump. Identity politics bull(*)(*)(*)(*) has claimed them and branded any traitors to the patriarchy as Uncle Toms.

The issue is the same issue which has been playing itself out over and over again since 1788 - will it be unitary or decentralized government? The Rats beat the anti-Rats for a new constitution in a battle formed around these ideas (read Madison's transcripts of the Constitutional Convention). The question was decided by military conquest in the civil war, and sovereignty has since then centralized into the Federal government and within the Federal government into the executive. The Hamiltonians won in the end.

But if their claims are true, why not so when scaled up to deal with modern issues? If a national government is justified in controlling trade across state borders, why then is a global government not justified in controlling trade across national borders? Why would this not in time be interpreted as absurdly loosely as the commerce clause is at the national level? Why should national governments be able to override international law with domestic courts? Because the nations haven't each given their consent to be governed? Don't fool yourself, that was the case when going from state -> national also, but unanimous consent quickly bows to majority consent by appeal to "democracy".

We will see who wins it in the end, but you can't argue with centralization's 3-0 record. Still, I have been surprised by 2016 as have most.

I have two possible answers to your question "why not?" (1) He was never interested in "serving all Americans" (or even serving any Americans). He's only interested in promoting his own name, his own legacy, and his own interests - which are a combination of celebrity and money. If this is true, then his primary concern is going to be discrediting the media, the intelligence agencies, and anyone else with the capacity to expose him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him focus more on media reports and his image than governing throughout his entire term.

(2) He is not a better man than they gave him credit for being. In other words, he is interested in "serving all Americans" but he can't get over his own self-esteem issues to actually do that. Kind of like Richard Nixon, except that Nixon was actually smart.

 

Who cares? Move on.

 

He won the election. That's all that needs to be said about it. The popular vote is an artifact of the real vote, which is the electoral college.
