You are very wrong, Mr. President. Obama's misguided view of the independent voter.

There is that interpretation or the more cynical one that independents are simply unprincipled and greedy, only voting for what benefits them without a strong political identity. I'm not saying that's true, but I've heard such tossed about on occasion. :)

    Come now, Despondent.

You know very well this statement is not true.

You just throw stuff out there hoping some poor schmuck might somehow believe it!

Is that the best you can do?

    Sources?

Without reliable sources, these comments are mere speculation and unsupported conclusions on your part!

More spending, more taxes, little cuts........That's supposed to be a balanced approach? That balanced approach should have been taken while jacking the National Debt $4 trillion in less than 3 years.

OK, but neither Republicans or Democrats have a majority without the independent voter.

Which mean no matter which party is screwing up at any given time the independents are to blame for it because they cast the deciding vote.

Meaning that it's your right to waste money because previous generations did?

    I don't think so.

gotta love RW economics....cut taxes to an all time low and increase spending for a decade, then complain when the debt skyrockets

They really are only in favor of heavy spending and debt when the GOP is in office. When that's the case it's "good for trickle-down". When dems are trying to save the country from their, well, let's just call it what it is shall we? theft of the US Treasury for personal gain, then all of a sudden that stimulus paddles-to-the-heart is "evil, wrong and bad...unforgiveable!".

They think voters are all just a gigantic herd of drooling idiots without a thought in our heads. And their spooking tactics are falling on deaf ears nowadays. I think this next election is going to surprise everyone in that nobody knows where the rabbit will pop out. Our situation is so dire that undoubtedly we will vote for someone who is likely to produce real change instead of just talking about it... while gutting their own resolve to placate the GOP..

In short, Obama had better grow a pair in bold deed, and shut the hell up, or start packing his bags to leave the Whitehouse.

Hmm thats a very backwards way of thinking about it, the independents are responsible for putting people in office. They are not to blame for what the clowns do once they are there. Take Obama for example, while campaigning he said he would fight to end earmarks, and go line by line through the budget looking for waste. They are not to blame for him not doing it... come to think of it though he can't really go line by line through the budget though because they don't pass those anymore, but the earmark thing he lied about.

If you look at it, candidates almost always lean toward fiscal conservatism while campaigning, so in my estimation they do this because the majority of the country including independents are more fiscally conservative. If Obama ran saying he was going to spend more then Bush, there is no way he would have gotten elected.

For the record I am an independent who follows politics closely and hasn't voted since 2004 because I don't like any of the options enough to waste my time in line.
