    Getting Encouragement from Discouragement.

    We are not the only ones who, at times, get discouraged.

    Even the greatest heroes of the faith, sometimes, get despondent
    and even want to give up and die.

    Moses . . .
    . . .talking to God:
    "If this is how you are going to treat me, please go ahead and kill me --
    if I have found favor in your eyes -- and do not let me face my own
    ruin."__Moses Numbers 11:15
    {Read more Numbers chapter 11}

    Elijah . . .
    "went a days journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom tree,
    sat down under it and prayed that he might die. I have had enough
    LORD, he said. Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors."
    1 Kings 19:4
    {Read more 1 Kings chapters 18 and 19}

    However . . .

    The Sovereign God, "the God who gives endurance and encouragement"
    {Romans 15:5} restored both Moses and Elijah to good hope, faith and
    encouragement . . .

    . . . and God will always do the same for us also -- when we get discouraged.

    Moses and Elijah, who at times became temporarily discouraged, were restored
    by God to great faith, vigor and courage.

    Moses was a great man and was in relation to the nation of Israel "sent to be their
    ruler and deliverer by God Himself." {Acts 7:35}

    Elijah was a great hero of the faith and the Sovereign God used him mightily
    to do the extraordinary.

    Lastly, these two great heroes of the faith were tremendously honored by the
    Sovereign God Himself when they met and talked with the Lord Jesus at His
    Transfiguration.

    Regarding the Lord Jesus at His Transfiguration:
    "the appearance of His face changed, and His clothes became as bright as a flash
    of lighting. Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with
    Jesus." Luke 9:29-30

    What a great honor for Moses and Elijah --men who in the past, and in a moment
    of human weakness, had wanted to give up and die -- now fully restored and greatly honored by God.

    "Have faith in God."__The Lord Jesus {Mark 11:22}
