30 + years...and I have used a firearm at least half a dozen times to discourage violence against me...3 times a handgun, the others a rifle
Talked about it with a friend in the sheriff's department. He said the law says they are allowed to play until 10 pm, but that realistically speaking, no deputy will ticket them before 11 pm. The neighbors are playing from 5-8:30 pm. Calling the cops on them, IMHO, will just make them practice up to their legal time, instead of the more reasonable time they are practicing. Just an annoyance.
Is it just Noise ? Or Music ? Just that there may be a positive side to it. There May be refreshments in it, lunch meats etc....
They think it's music, I think it's noise, because it's mediocre heavy metal type music. I don't get to hear it all, it's just the bass notes that come through the walls. Their garage (where they practice) is about 15 feet from my house, or 30 feet from my TV set.
You speak like a prat, I have had blokes rain punches on me that felt like getting slapped by a fly swatter, I am rather fat, and I laughed at the bloke, he jumped in his car and shrieked off almost crashing into a Police vehicle, he was taken in charge, someone saw him and called the Police..... lol, and I had My holstered sidearm and decided NOT to draw it......
It is, but as I said, I have little choice in the matter. If I piss them off, instead of playing 5:30 to 8:30, then they will start doing 8-11 pm. It doesn't bother me personally, that much. I have a talent at ignoring noise. However, it does annoy my wife, which is more annoying to me than if it annoys me.
I don't carry regularly, but have had a permit since my state went to a shall issue policy. I have never shown or drawn while carrying in public. However, I have used a firearm to deter or prevent a crime or assault in my home a couple of times. Once on a break in when I was renting and someone broke into the property and then the storage closets in the basement late at night .I heard noises, left my unit in the duplex with my shotgun and went to the top of the stairs. I cycled the action to chamber a round after announcing that whoever was down their should identify themselves and received no response .They rapidly went out the lower level walkout before I cleared the room . Another time there was someone in my yard late at night and the security lights woke me .I saw 2 people in dark clothing at the service door to my garage .I opened my back door, announced I was armed, and they fled .I was carrying a 45 pistol at the time .
