Well I heard him say we need congress to declare war so that we can continue to not put boots on the ground because that would be playing into exactly what ISIL (code for I respect you) wants us to do. I'm sure they want us to do exactly what we did in Iraq and Afghanistan, because that isn't war. War is reaching out and stomping the guts out of the enemy and pulverizing them into no existence. That is war. Not coddling, or arming them further. I guarantee you if we put an old fashioned world of hurt on their ass, the last thing they would want is for us to put our boots up their asses again.

He also said, he didn't know of a good argument for allowing terrorists to get their hands on guns, so congress needed to act and make it illegal for anyone on the terrorist watch list from obtaining a gun. Condescending and intellectually dishonest. First and foremost, if this Terrorist Watch List is so sure fire why are they not prosecuting these people on the list affectionately referred to as the 'Error Watch List'? You cannot take away a citizens rights without due process.

As a person sworn to uphold/protect/preserve the constitution he knows this already, but that is not what he is doing here. He is saying a bunch of dishonest BS, and if you don't agree with his false rhetoric, then you are the problem, when he is actually playing mind/word games, and participating in blatant dishonesty.

His vague attempt at attacking legal gun ownership by attempting to create a loophole is obvious. Why doesn't he request consideration for a law that denies all non-citizens the right to bear arms? Why isn't the terrorist watch list a main priority for his administration? Why is he spending so much of his time ignoring the law, and using executive orders to bypass congress and the law of the land? If these people are indeed potential terrorists as he claims shouldn't he be using every resource at his disposal to arresting and convicting these animals? Why are they allowed to walk freely with their terrorist ties and their known association with terrorism so obvious that they have them on a list, but can't do anything with them other than point out that they are indeed a threat?

    - Make the Russians, the Syrians and the Turks sign a truce with the Kurds. Stop trying to drop supplies into Kurdish territory and start delivering them directly to Kurdish strongholds.
    - Give civilians 24 hours to escape ISIS cities. If any ISIS trucks try to escape, destroy them. Once those 24 hours are up, start carpet bombing ISIS cities.
    - Turn every ISIS supply route into the highway of death.
    - Coordinate with the Russians, the Syrians and the Kurds. They already have boots on the ground, so we don't need to send any of our own.
    - Keep Assad in power, but make him agree to power-sharing.
    - Dismantle the Iraqi government and replace it with a workable system.

As for the lone wolf threat...

    - Put an end to visa-free travel between the U.S. and Europe.
    - Allow police to put mosques under surveillance to make sure that they are not preaching Jihdaism.
    - Create an anonymous hotline that people can call if they see something suspicious.

Ban them from buying a gun if they are on the terrorist watch list, but give them a way to get their name removed from the list if it can be proven that they do not have any ties to terrorism.

I don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about their feelings. Unless violence is being threatened, people should be allowed to say anything they want.

Help the Jordanians build and maintain refugee camps. We should not bring any of the refugees to the United States.

Do the exact opposite of what Obama is doing: make it clear that ISIS is a threat and act accordingly. The main reason that the American people do not have confidence is because Obama keeps trying to downplay the threat of ISIS and keeps insisting that his nonexistent "strategy" is working, when the facts show that it is not.

    I can't argue with that.

Offended me? No. But the contrast of your signature and the first line of your post was striking. As the Bible says, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." If you are going to set a standard for others, its going to be applied to you 10-fold.

That's a real shame too. If we are to be perpetually embroiled in military operations in hope of achieving our goals, then it makes no sense to send your best military minds home early. Unless winning is not really the objective, of course.

The problem is you are asking for a wish list and not dealing with reality.

Your questions could have been easily answered in 2009 but not today.

There's been a whole lot of damage inflicted upon America by Barack Obama.

America is no longer the "Super Power" that it was from 1946 to 2008.

The national debt has doubled under Obama.

America hasn't been so divided today since 1860 and this was Obama's agenda from day one.

Our national defense has been used for PC social engineering. It's not the fighting force that it was in 2008.

3/4 of the Army's combat brigades aren't combat capable and can't be deployed.

1/2 of the Marine Corps aren't combat capable.

1/2 of the Navy's ships can't put to sea and fight aka "mission capable."

Of the one million Muslims that Obama has issued visas and Obama green cards too during the past seven years, how many are part of the "JV" team ? How many will be radicalized ?

Since every executive branch of the federal government including the IRS, DOJ and the Pentagon have been politicized under Obama, will the next President depoliticized these departments of government or continue to crap all over the Constitution ?

Will Congress appropriate the trillions of dollars to repair the damage that has been inflicted on America by Obama ?

Before 2009 the United States along with the UK could have dealt with any problem in the world. Maybe bring the "frogs" on board because "going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion."

You can't fight the enemy if you can't even name it: Radical Islamic Terror Government & Religion.

If your home is swarming with roaches, don't keeping letting more in. So the US should ban all further immigration of Muslims. Islam is incompatible with Western civilization. All those here legally and illegally from any nation with a history of Islamic radical violence should screened----and most deported.

You can't keep the guns or pipe bombs or kettle bombs out of the hands of terrorists---anymore than one can keep narcotics out of the hood. One great way to keep violence from terrorists and gangs of urban thugs (who kill over a hundred times more in the US than Islamo-terrorists)---is to give income tax breaks to those citizens who uncover or testify against them.

In the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, the best way to defeat the enemy is to surround and contain the State, village by village, city by city. Force everyone in ISIS occupied areas out on foot search each person and put them all in resettlement camps until they are ID'ed. Those who are found to be active fighters or supporters who won't be changed should be executed. Once an area has been cleared, it can be resettled by Christians or other very peaceful people.

This is far more humane than what was done to Germany and Japan in WW2, carpet bombing or nuking whole cities. You see, none of that was a war crime, and no Allied leader or fighter has ever been convicted in our courts for doing so.

    Ok, fair enough....

This is my non-sarcastic, genuine apology.

Please, seriously, give me your thoughts and tell me how you would answer those questions.

Ok, all of that was basically a rant about all the things you don't like and your perceptions of what's happened over the last 7 years.

The questions I posed are the major points from last nights speech.

All I'm doing is trying to give everybody the opportunity to say what they would do with each one of those topics.

So please, how about it.........take a stab like all the others and say what you would do if you were president.

If you or I had an enemy that drove us to the point of murder, something tells me we could easily pull the trigger of a gun or set off a detonation device without calling that person by their name, religion, or ethnicity. If we wanted that individual gone, we could make them go away, and there doesn't have to be one sound internally or externally coming from our lips while we're doing it.

Many folks are upset that the president won't use the word "Islam" in any of his descriptions of terrorist't, and most of the reasons why they're upset range everywhere from borderline schizophrenia to sheer lunacy.

The president dos not use the word "Islam" in any of his descriptions of terrorist's because that gives them the legitimacy they seek. It plays right into what they want. It also slaps roughly 1.3 billion Muslims in the face who have either been crushed by these lunatics or want no part of their brand of madness.

You guys think the president doesn't use the term because:

    1. Secretly he's a Muslim and he's just being loyal.

    2. He just doesn't have the backbone to call it like it is.

    3. He will offend his Saudi masters.

    4. He's too much of an appeaser & apologist instead of a leader.

    5. etc. etc. etc.

The president "not" using that terminology doesn't mean any of that, nor does it mean that he's in some ridiculous denial over how dangerous this situation is.

All it boils down to is that all of the people complaining about this issue firmly believes that every Muslim breathing is a terrorist because the internet told them so, and since their president refuses to lump suicidal lunatics in with Mr. & Mrs. Joe Blow Muslim down the street.......he must be up to something, he's stupid, or he's incredibly naïve.

Members of the Westborough Baptist Church that constantly show up to picket everything from puppies getting hit by cars to servicemen & women being killed in the line of duty are called lunatics by everybody........on all sides. But nobody calls them Christians, because true Christians don't behave that way. (I guess it's a double standard for Muslims)

Do any these refugees look like roaches to you, if they do, then you have seriously lost all of your humanity.

Hood.........., which "hood" would we be talking about here, the black hoods or the white hoods?

    How about this story: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/12/01/when-white-girls-deal-drugs-they-walk.html

You know, you meet the friendliest people on the internet......I'm pretty much speechless over this one.

There's just so much here that I don't know where to begin. How "exactly" do we force everyone out on foot, and how "exactly" are we going to get grown-@$$, crazed out of the freaking mind, bloodthirsty lunatics, to obediently cooperate with us while we interrogate them?

How "exactly" are we going to ID all of these people & differentiate between honest citizens and jihadist's over there on their soil with little to no resources?

Do you realize that everything your suggesting, you've all been saying for weeks won't work here - even though we have an endless amount of resources and the full backing & support of nine government agencies (on our shores) that do this for a living?

You all claim that it won't work here, but "magically" it's supposed to work there.......in the desert........amongst the goats..........:blankstare:

I think the line that's screaming at me the most is:

Were you watching yourself while you were typing these words? This is so offensive that there are just no words for it, and you wonder why the world is imploding in on itself. It's statements like this that start wars.

The only reason why nobody went to jail was because we were the bully's that committed all of those acts. Nobody may have went to jail, but our leaders spent the next 60 years working to disarm and end Nuclear warfare as we know it.

Entertain me here, why exactly do you think we did that? You think that maybe it had something to do with the fact that we knew that morally it was wrong, and that something like that could & should never happen again?

I appreciate the fact that you took the time to answer the questions, so I thank you.

Obviously I don't agree with much of it but at least you stepped up to the plate. It's sort of amazing how little responses there were opposed to the hundreds of complaints about the president's speech last night.

A lot of tough guys, but no takers when it counts......

    Thanks for playing...

First, its a hard problem, made harder by obama's poor strategy - really a lack of a strategy. There are no easy and short answers.

And each one of your questions has some weak assumptions which makes the answers long.

First, its a bad assumption that the terrorists are not getting support from the communities they dwell/hide in. In Europe, they almost certainly have the support of local communities. Its probably true on the USA also, but the communities are smaller in the USA, and the violence mush less, but just as in Europe there is a very PC effort to not profile, not infiltrate the muslim community and mosques, and there is reluctance to report activities by muslims for fear of being harassed (and the recent comments by AG Lynch are going to stifle any reporting of suspicious activity by muslims).

Unfortunately, that's how you find these cells, by surveillance, infiltration, lucky breaks from observant people, and the occasional slip-up of the terrorists.

That's what I would do - profile, infiltrate, monitor, encourage people to keep their eyes open and report. Its not as if these people don't have a clear signature, they come from certain parts of the world, they have a certain religion, they dress a certain way. Its stupid to pretend otherwise.

And I would stop all immigration from those parts of the world, and no muslims until we get it all sorted out. Nobody has a right to enter the USA, people are allowed - actually invited - in, and we don't have to invite them.

Can't stop them all. Even in Australia after their gun ban they have had 2 mass shootings, and multiple mass killings in which arson was the weapon. California has the strictest gun controls in the USA and some of the highest violent crime rates - plus San Bernardino.

And you won't stop determined terrorists no matter what the laws are. They will get guns, and bombs, and chemicals. You cannot stop an intelligent, resourceful, patient killer. That's why serial killers are so dangerous and can kill dozens, even 100's, over many years.

You can try monitoring mental health, which is what most mass killers have in common. Most of the recent ones have been under psychiatric care, or were known to have mental problems. But the mental health system has been abused before, today we are overcautious about mental health privacy and rights, and with good reason.

Just like the terrorist cells, people reporting mentally ill dangerous people is the best approach.

No increased gun control. More people should be armed.

The best way to stop that is for those muslims who are not terrorists to start speaking out against the violent muslims, once the "peaceful" muslims stop sitting on the sidelines worrying over some perceived prejudice and start fighting the violent muslims, they won't have to worry about "islamophobia". When CAIR spends its time blasting ISIS instead of sueing and ranting over some muslim who couldn't wash his feet in an airport, people will stop thinking all muslims are a bunch of lunatics.

obama is not helping by acting like the main concern is not terrorism but prejudice against muslims.

Too bad. We do not have to bring them to the USA. If you feel bad about it then donate money or help run a refugee camp in Turkey or Europe or some other country. The govt's first priority is the safety of its citizens and the integrity of the nations borders.

You make another false assumption. The govt cannot keep us safe particularly after the terrorists have made it into the country. Police keep people safe not by being in place to prevent crime, but primarily by being able to catch law breakers and punish them - its the threat of getting caught and being punished that is the deterrent. But terrorists don't care about the deterrence effect, deterrence is irrelevant for them.

All the govt can do is try to disrupt the terror groups overseas, and as I said to #1, try to infiltrate, monitor, etc. as best they can. It has to be a team effort, the govt and people working together.

And I would encourage people to arm themselves and get trained.

LOL, that's a load of BS. Its PC crap. Its also stupid. After the Paris attacks, Hollande said the same thing as obama, he would not let ISIS win by preventing more "refugees" from entering France, France would stay true to its values. Even though ISIS publicly stated that it would insert ISIS terrorists into the refugees, terrorists who would repeat the Paris attacks. Hollande is a fool, ISIS doesn't want him to stop taking in "refugees", ISIS wants him to do exactly what he is doing, Hollade is playing right into the terrorists hands. So is obama.

Your post are pretty far on the Left for a Centrist. But from the top:

Obama is a pretend Christian---hanging out at Rev.Wright's "Church" just to gain political favor for his career. Obama was born a Muslim, and named one. He was raised and schooled in Islam for many years. Most of his family are Kenyan Muslims. In College, he ran around with a rich Pakistani student. He and his family do not currently attend a Christian Church. Obama defends Muslims and the Islamic faith---and has never defended the Christian faith to any significance. Obama's and the Multicultural Left's goal is to make America and the West less White, less Christian. That is a fact.

Christians helped make Western Society great. Islam is like a cancer to any nation. Yes, Christians did burn witches and do lots of bad things---but that was WAY in the past. In fact, Christians have not fought each other over strictly religious matters for 400 years. Now let's look at all the conflicts currently going on worldwide:

    AFRICA:

(27 Countries and 197 between militias-guerrillas, separatist groups and anarchic groups involved)

Hot Spots: Central African Republic (often there are armed clashes between muslims and christians), Democrati Republic of Congo (war against rebel groups), Egypt (war against islamic militants of Islamic State branch), Libya (civil war), Mali (clashes between army and rebel groups), Nigeria (war against islamist militants), Somalia (war against al-Shabaab islamist militants), Sudan (war against rebel groups in Darfur), South Sudan (civil war)

    ASIA:

(16 Countries and 150 between militias-guerrillas, separatist groups and anarchic groups involved)

Hot Spots: Afghanistan (war against islamist militants), Burma-Myanmar (war against rebel groups), Pakistan (war against islamist militants), Philippines (war against islamist militants), Thailand (coup d’etat by army May 2014)

    EUROPE:

(9 Countries and 75 between militias-guerrillas, separatist groups and anarchic groups involved)

Hot Spots: Chechnya (war against islamist militants), Dagestan (war against islamist militants), Ukraine (Secession of self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic)

    MIDDLE EAST:

(8 Countries and 227 between militias-guerrillas, separatist groups and anarchic groups involved)

Hot Spots: Iraq (war against Islamic State islamist militants), Israel (war against islamist militants in Gaza Strip), Syria (civil war), Yemen (war against and between islamist militants)

    AMERICAS:

(5 Countries and 25 between drug cartels, militias-guerrillas, separatist groups and anarchic groups involved)

Hot Spots: Colombia (war against rebel groups), Mexico (war against narcotraffic groups)
    http://www.warsintheworld.com/?page=static1258254223

Look at that ^^^^^^! Over 80 percent of the world's conflicts are with 25% of the world's population: MUSLIMS. What's this nonsense about the "Religion of Peace?" If the (*)(*)(*)(*)es, Sunnies and Kurds aren't fighting each other, they are certainly attacking Jews and Christians and "infidels". Only a blind person cannot see reality, 2015.

Again, you are so hard pressed to condemn Christians that you use the ultra-rare political group "Westborough Baptist Church." Anyone can call themselves a church---even Jim Jones used the guise of Christianity to lure in Liberal fools to his Marxist Temple. Why do you not hold Muslims to the same standards as Christians? If you can't do that, why don't you at least hold them to the standards of Buddists?

Why are almost every refugees these days Muslims fleeing Muslim ****holes? Simply put Islam = Crap. The refugees allowed their areas to become violent places. They didn't have the moral fortitude in the first place. In fact, how has Islam made the world a better place. Look at the entire area of North Africa. Since Islam took control over a thousand years ago, has anything good come out of the whole area to benefit mankind? Any major inventions? Any great innovative cities? Any great leaders? No, No and No. And you want more of that here. The few "good people" that are refugees are not enough, and the majority are going to bring down Western society to their level of culture and standard of living---even with government entitlements. The cockroach comparison is still valid, in my opinion.

There are no White Hoods with any significant crime problems in the US. Every single one of "The Ten Most Dangerous Cities in America" over the years have been ran by liberal democrats with "you know whos" doing almost all the crimes.

    http://www.dailyfinance.com/photos/dangerous-cities/

Being ex-military, and a student of history, I have a basic concept on how to clear and hold territory. Something Obama and his disciples have failed at. There must be effective boots on the ground. Urban areas occupied by hostile forces must be cleared of civilians then cleared house to house or leveled. Civilians and fighters alike are being IDed using biometrics. This IS the 21st Century ya know. The best strategy would be containment, but Turkey won't close the border, and Syria is a pourous war zone----so interment camps ran by the Red Cross and others ----allows time to see who is who as each area is cleared.

So if you agree that laughably serious war crimes were done by Allied Leaders and military fighters in WW2---and have not demanding that even one single person be convicted of it by our own courts---then you have no moral leg to stand on when it comes to doing the hard things that will put down Islamic terrorists:

    Like interment camps.
    Closing borders.
Leveling all terror mosques used by radical Muslims to preach hate and recruit and as military fighting postions. All should be leveled to the ground after a 30 minute warning.
Banning ALL Muslim immigrants from active war zones at the very least.

To be fair, there are many that feel the way you do regarding his strategy or as you all say "lack of strategy", but I sometimes wonder if we're listening to the same guy speak. Every time I listen to him speak (to my ears) he always lays out a concrete plan (about whatever the topic is) and he explains to the American people who he's consulted with, what they've all agreed upon, what's going to happen, how it's going to happen, and when.

I'm not listening with the ears of a five year old child that is hanging onto his father's every word & worships the ground he walks on, I'm listening with the ears of a person over 50 that's packed 70 years worth of living within those 50 years, and experiences from serving in the military to circumnavigating the globe. (many times)

I'll be the first to admit that not all of the strategies have worked very well in Syria, and I don't think that arming rebels anywhere is ever a good idea because ultimately you can't control what happens down the line. Also these lunatics always seem to get their hands on said weapons at some point, and the locals run around screaming that "we" created ISIS & support them which hampers our efforts in the fight against them.

I think what's happenings here is that people are confusing what they don't like - with what they heard or what was told to them. It's fair to say "I don't like his strategy" but I think it's a bit disingenuous for all of you guys to keep saying that he doesn't have one.

He does have one and he laid it out Sunday night like he's laid out other plans. It's as if you guys have selective hearing, and really that's not fair. Hearing something you don't agree with or don't like does not equal.........you heard nothing at all.

Did he have a strategy to get Osama Bin Laden........did it work......??(I rest my case)

I'll give you some on this point. To be sure there are silent supporters that live amongst us. I have a good friend from Syria that's been here (that I've talked about many times in many threads) for the last 17 years and she's taught me a lot. She's a Druze from Al Suwayda Syria, and she's always telling me how she avoids certain Muslims she knows like the plague because she knows for a fact that some of them harbor ill feelings towards the US.

Not enough to do something stupid and ruin there lives those two idiots in California, but they see no wrong in "some" of the things that ISIS does. I need to point out that I'm talking about an incredibly small margin of people here, not hundreds or thousands. (more like a dozen or so)

Has she made the authorities aware of these people.......yes.

I understand what your saying and your right........to a point, but I think the danger lies in just automatically assuming that these underground supporters are here by the thousands or millions, because that's just not the case.

    I agree with this point.

Everything you said here was fine, except for the "P" word.

Funny story but true: two weeks after 9/11 when the FAA allowed all of the airlines to fly again I flew from Miami up to New York for business. (I was living in FL at the time) When I walked onto the plane every single person on that plane looked at me as I made my way to the back as if I was a rock star or a Hollywood actor. (but they were not looks of admiration)

When I took my seat they held their stare and did not turn back around. Every eyeball was on me and on me alone. It was so awkward that even the flight attendants felt bad for me and came to the back to apologize.

I realized why and I shrugged it off, I have "MANY" different nationalities flowing through my veins and I could basically pass for everything under the sun. (except for Asian)

I'm routinely mistaken as a citizen in almost every country I've travelled to for business because of my looks, and nobody can tell what the Hell I really am, which is a Heinz 57 mutt times 10000.

My point to all of this is, it sucks to be profiled, and unless it's ever happened to you - you have no clue what it feels like: for little old white women to clutch their handbags when you get on elevators, to hear the sound of door locks click as you walk by cars, to have store clerks follow you around stores (blatantly) and I could go on for hours.

There are lots of Muslims living in this country my friend, and I'm not about to profile one of them, I'll keep my eyes open, but I won't profile anybody.

Until we get it all sorted out, ok. There are currently thousands of Syrians living in tent cites or just in open spaces that oh-by-the-way are not "lovely places" like that idiot Ben Carson would have us believe. These people are freezing & starving and "no" we did not put them in these situations or cause their suffering. (directly)

The point is before the tragedy in France the entire world decided to do something about these poor wretches and open their doors to help. They committed to huge numbers while we....sat by and watched, and hemmed & hawed. Finally we agreed to do our share and take in a few, and now everybody's screaming that we can't even do that because blah, blah, blah, blah.

All it takes is one, All it takes is one, All it takes is one to infinity......................oh my freaking God!!!!:roll::roll:

The truth is Americans never wanted these refuges whether the tragedy in France happened or not. The truth is timing is not on the side of these refugees and unfortunately now because we're all running around scared out of our wits (over mostly nothing) they're stuck........in those tent cities.........freezing & suffering.

We punked out, and shame on us.

I see your point, but I feel like there are simple things we can do to at least "try" to make things safer for all of us.

Here again you have "some" points but I'd like to point out a few things. Your right when you say: "once the "peaceful" Muslims stop sitting on the sidelines worrying over some perceived prejudice".

Muslims culture "more so than the religion of Islam" is responsible for so many of them feeling the need to not say much or anything at all when something happens. Their silence doesn't automatically mean that they are compliant or agreeable to these atrocities, but the silence stems from a culture where their governments are 100% responsible for dealing with these terrorist and also responsible to act when things happen.

The other part to this is that many Muslims feel as though apologizing for the acts of these lunatics in some way gives the impression (to the person they're apologizing to) that they're apologizing for their brother's & sisters - when in fact these lunatics are "not" their brothers & sisters.

In other words, they feel like: "I have nothing to do with that lunatic, I don't think like him, and I would never do those things so why should I have to apologize for him?" He in no way reflects me or my believes and his false claims of doing this in the name of Allah are his own deranged misgivings & distortions"

I can actually relate to this because every time a Spanish person or a Black person or a Sicilian person, or a Hindu Indian person is in the news for something horrible, I get idiots asking me why as if I'm the spokesperson for that race. It's BS, I don't have any answers as to why these @$$-holes did what they did (just because I slightly resemble that person), so why should I call CBS news to make a special announcement, and publically proclaim my distance from said @$$-hole?

The other point to this is: how many times do we see the "entire" Italian community come out and apologize for John Gotti or Al Capone after restaurants were blown up, or massacres that happened in broad day light in Chicago and in New York? (which we can also consider terrorist acts)

I could on & on & on &on for every race of people.

All races of people do evil chit, so tell me where the line is of when you are or you are not supposed to publicly say something about it?

Last point: there are, many young Muslims all over the world who have created small organizations & movements that do the very thing your suggesting. They don't get a lot of media coverage because the media is only interested in sexy stories that sell, but they are active and they do exist.

Type in "Muslims for Peace" on YouTube and you'll get quite an education, and don't dismiss it as some BS YouTube nonsense that means nothing because they have impact, and they mean a lot. This is the double standard that drives me crazy. People ask others for action, and when it's given, it all falls on deaf ears.

You don't think that Muslims read the posts in forums like these and many others (they do), you don't think they're keenly aware of all the negativity towards them? (they are)

What do think goes through a 25 year old Muslims woman's mind when she reads a millions post's that say "how come they don't speak out" and that's all she's "been" doing?

THAT.....my friend doesn't help, it doesn't move us forward, and all it does is keep the un-trust, resentments, divisions, and ill feelings alive.

Connecting or tying terrorists to a particular religion (that they do they do represent) is dangerous. "President" Obama's main concern regarding ISIS is not prejudice against Muslims.

The president, and anybody with a high school education knows that calling these thugs & lunatics members of Islam sends a message to millions of - yes, peaceful people that have no stake, no ties, no connections, no affiliations and no love for maniacs that have decide to kill - in the name of their religion.

If a ban of lunatics blew up Madison Square Garden and they claimed themselves to be Catholics with some religious purpose, would you call them Catholics? Would you insult the millions of "true" Catholics in the world by calling those lunatics Catholics, would you expect for every "true" Catholic in the world to renounce these lunatics publically?

I'd do a lot more than donate money if I had the means but I don't. I can't speak to your reply here because we're fundamentally in two separate solar systems. The selfishness of America and her citizens never ceases to amaze me, and its the one component of this country that I am ashamed of the most.

If this is what you would say to an entire country looking to you for leadership for an answer as to what to do about potential terrorist cells in this country.......then ok, I have to respect it.

And every single person that got shot accidentally after you made that proclamation would be on you........so be prepared.

I disagree but ok, you feel this way so once again, I have to respect where your coming from.

Holy Cow what a gigantic post. Since you obviously put some time and effort into it I will respect your effort and respond but I'll take it in bites.

You are assuming that because I do not agree with you that I am not hearing and understanding what obama has stated. obama has been in office for 7 years, we have heard his speeches for those 7 years but more importantly we have seen his actions.

The reality is that obama was elected based on his charisma and his skin color and because people placed their hope in him, not because of his accomplishments or experience or proven capabilities or his knowledge of the world. And we have seen that obama is not up to the task, he is a community organizer, but not a national organizer, and certainly not able to play in the complicated world of international politics. obama is a politician and an ideologue willing to sacrifice the law on the alter of his ideological goals.

Here is Obama's strategy for ISIS as he spoke on Sunday:

    1. Use the military to kill ISIS leaders and destroy ISIS weapons, oil tankers, etc.
    2. Train and equip indigenous forces hostile towards ISIS.
    3. Disrupt operations and finances of ISIS.
    4. Work with allies.
    5. Establish "benchmarks of effectiveness" with the international community.
    6. But don't get involved in a protracted war.

Nothing new, he's said it before, blah blah blah. But what has he done? He had bombers fly over the ISIS oil trucks but didn't bomb them because he didn't want to damage the environment - that's the insanity of obama's priorities. His "train and equip" over the past year has been such an absolute joke and a disaster its foolish to even mention it. I expect its more of the same - some words with no action.

But what else did obama say?

    1. He wants us all to know that ISIS is not muslim, that islam is a religion of peace, and its really really important that Americans be ultra-nice to muslims because religious tolerance is what America is all about (but not tolerance to Christians, they are bad because they don't support obama's dictatorial dreams, and they won't marry gays). To this I say WTF? How stupid does obama think people are?

    2. The answer to domestic terrorism is gun control. As expected, the former Director of the Joyce Foundation (obama was director from 1994-2002, Joyce is the most aggressive gun ban organization in the USA) wants to use every opportunity to advance the gun ban agenda.

I heard obama loud and clear. I just don't trust him, I don't believe most of what he says, I expect him to try to pass the buck on ISIS to the next President. obama wants to get through the next year without getting involved in Syria, Iraq & Afghanistan so he can pretend he got the nation out of those "Bush wars". I do expect obama to do whatever illegal actions he can to push gun control, illegal immigration and voter fraud, and increase the power of the state.

This I take separately and personally. Obama did not "get" bin Laden. It took a lot of work by a lot of people, many of whom risked their lives, and some did lose their lives, to track down bin Laden and kill him. It started when Bush was President and ended when Obama was President, but that was simple circumstance. Neither Bush nor obama can take credit, neither of them hindered the effort, neither helped the effort. Obama's role was to say "yes" to the final mission, there was some political risk, but that's it, and it certainly does not stand against the risk so many others took.

That's an example of the insincerity of obama and "progressives", they take credit where none is due, there is no humility or understanding in those people. That's why I don't capitalize "obama".

I really can't answer you because you are asking what I would be telling you that would be different than what Obama said and the answer would be not one single solitary thing.

What I would be DOING would be somewhat different, at least insofar as Obama isn't doing them now without telling anyone.

    1. Be planting a new religious leader who follows the "quietist" branch of the Wahabis. The Sauds have several good candidates here. It is actually possible that something like this is blowing up in our faces now, but that just means we have to do it better.

2.Be very quietly cutting off ANY trade with Turkey and others who trade with ISIL, and ramping up CIA operations to overthrow them if they won't stop. All emphases must be on secrecy here and any support given after a coup must be done through catspaws, with the Saudis cooperating with the Israelis and the Russians. Some promises will be made, some will be kept and some broken. The Great Game is never safe but things like ISIL are much more dangerous

    3. Hitting ISIL on the ground in secret operations. Possibly using the Peshmerge as catspaws but actually being with either American Specials, Mossad, CIA, and Spetsnaz,, whatever seems called for in the specific situation. All emphases here will be on being effective but not becoming another recruiting tool of ISIL.

I really hope Above Alpha sees this thread.

Pretty far to the left or pretty far from "your" point of view?

President Obama went to that church for reasons neither one of us will ever know, unless you have a crystal ball, mine is broken. Here's what I do know from reading both of his auto-biography's: President Obama's father was a no show father, and was basically never there for him.

Shortly after he was born (IN HAWAII) he left to go back to Africa, but you knew that right? (of course you did)

President Obama was named after his father like millions & millions & millions of other sons that were named after there father's since the beginning of time. (which means what exactly?)

So what your proposing is that his name automatically qualified him to become a Muslim, or that his fathers place of birth automatically qualified him to become a Muslim? President Obama's grandfather was a practicing Muslim, yes - father - not so much.

"Barack Obama Sr. was raised in a Muslim family.[20] When he was about six years old and attending a Christian missionary school, the boy converted to Anglicanism when strongly encouraged by the staff. He changed his name from "Baraka" to "Barack".[1] Obama later became an atheist, believing that religion was mere superstition."

President Obama was born in Hawaii, and this has been verified a billion times over.

"In October 1967 Obama and his mother moved to Jakarta to rejoin his stepfather. The family initially lived in a newly built neighborhood in the Menteng Dalam administrative village of the Tebet subdistrict in South Jakarta for two and a half years, while Soetoro worked on a topographic survey for the Indonesian government.[21][22] From January 1968 to December 1969, Obama's mother taught English and served as an assistant director of the U.S. government-subsidized Indonesia-America Friendship Institute,[23] while Obama attended the Indonesian-language Santo Fransiskus Asisi (St. Francis of Assisi) Catholic School around the corner from their house for 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd grade.[21]

In 1970 Soetoro took a new job at higher pay in Union Oil Company's government relations office.[4][21][24][25][26][27] From January 1970 to August 1972, Obama's mother taught English and was a department head and a director of the Institute of Management Education and Development.[23] Obama attended the Indonesian-language government-run Besuki School, one-and-half miles east in the exclusive Menteng administrative village, for part of 3rd grade and for 4th grade. By this time, he had picked up on some Indonesian in addition to his native English.[21] He also joined the Cub Scouts.[28]"

President Obama wants to make the country less white and less Christian.....:eyepopping::eyepopping: (I got nothing here)

Ok, let's cover some basic American history here shall we:

    1. Indians saved the foreigners from freezing to death and showed them how to grow crops to keep from starving only to be re-paid by being slaughtered by the thousands later.

    2. African slaves were brought in to basically build everything else including taking care of their masters children & homes that they couldn't seem to take care of themselves only to be repaid by being treated worse than dogs....... Even the masters mixed children were treated like something less than human.

    3. Later on the Germans came in and helped to build massive industrial parks that sparked the industrial revolution while the Chinese built the railroads in the west and the Italians built the railroads here in Connecticut.

    4. Captains of industry like the Morgan's & Rockefellers put their money, not their religion behind everything else.

    5. Ford inspired us with his assembly lines.

    6. South Bend Indiana gave us the miracle of the lathe which truly made everything else under the sun from wrenches to planes.....shall I keep going....??

All the while, people went to church on Sundays and sang to & worshipped "air".................

I've never once in any of my threads denied that these radicalized crazies were not creating problems all over the world, and I have never defended them.

Stop right there as your being really unfair here. I complemented true Christians by saying that none of us would call the members of the Westborough Baptist Church real Christians because that's not how true Christian behave. (you see that as an insult to Christians, really?)

Your so angry that you writing before your reading or thinking. I was simply trying to point out that people get upset at the president because he refuses to tie radicals to Islam.

Radicals are not true followers of the Islamic faith, and before you send me back the same retreaded lame @$$ versus from the Quran that's supposed to prove that it's the religion of "death & destruction" - the true followers of the Islamic faith do not commit acts of violence or are on some mission to wage jihad against the world.

I can go out tomorrow and do something stupid in the name of Christianity but it doesn't mean that I'm a true Christian, and it doesn't mean that Christians should apologize for me or that all Christians will do the same stupid thing/s I did. (you seriously can't understand that)

How much do you know about Syrian history?

Did you know that of all the Middle Eastern countries, Syria had the least amount of problems before this civil war broke out)?

Did you know that Damascus was one of (if not) the first cities ever erected, and it was beyond magnificent in every way, and far more superior than any other city in all of the Middle East?

What do you know of Syrian culture, Syrian history, Syrian life...............nothing, you like most Americans that are completely isolated, and don't want to know anything beyond hot dogs & John Wayne, you.....know.....nothing!!

Yet you rant on & on about a people and a civilization that was here since the 3rd millennium B.C. - before your precious street. I won't bother to insult my self trying to reply to such garbage.

These refugees that you claim allowed this to happen is laughable at best and insanely ignorant at worst. How in the hell do ten year olds, teenage girls and old people fight off madmen gorillas with Russian AK-47's?

Have you NOT been paying attention to what's been going on over there for the past almost five years or are you like everybody else - only tuned in now when there's the possible threat that the Evil, Syrian, Muslim, POSSIBLE terrorist's will invade your space?

Your lack of knowledge - about things that are so easily accessible - to learn about - are outside of my span of comprehension.

Truly, I have no words for such questions, and what it tells me is that you don't care to educate yourself on any of the things you asked in that paragraph of pure garbage, because "if" you did, you would have never asked them.

Thank you for your service, I served as well.

Based on many of your statements I'm..........just..........not...........seeing.............this.

I respect the fact that you have military experience and that you have some thoughts on the subject but something tells me that if you totaled up all the years of experience, all the current joint chiefs of staff have - it would outweigh yours & mine by a few hundred years.

So I think it's safe to say that they've weighed & measured all possible options, and that they have assessed everything including things we'll never know. Translation - I think their much better equipped to tackle these issue than you & I.

The only thing I will admit to is that the strategy of arming rebels was not all together a good plan. (in my humble opinion) I'll also admit it hasn't worked very well at all. As far as whatever new strategies their coming up with, we'll all have to wait & see what develops.

Being ex military you should know better than most that military commanders don't always knock it out of the park on first draft, history has show us that, but that doesn't automatically mean that the job won't get done - history has shown us that as well.

How exactly do we forcibly destroy a place of worship, how exactly do we shred the constitution by doing something like that, what authority do we cite, which example from case law do we use, on what grounds do we use such extreme measure's, and what precedent do we set by doing such a horrible thing?

All the rest of what you said sounds a lot like what Benjamin Netanyahu did last summer with his air raids in Palestine. He gave schools & hospitals basically a few minutes to evacuate before he bombed the chit out of them.....with kids & patients still inside.

Look, I hate terrorist and the crimes they commit more than anyone. A part of me died when those buildings IN M MY BACK YARD WHERE I GREW UP went down, and that part of me has NEVER recovered!!!:steamed::steamed:

You want anger over terrorist's, man I've got enough anger to light up New York City all by myself.

What I will never do however, is allow those acts to make me magically forget or destroy all of the relationships I have forged over the course of my life with many, super cool, super peaceful Muslims that I know.

Hate all the Muslims if you feel you must, join that maniac Donald Trump in his personal crusade to become the world's most ignorant, hated man if it makes you sleep better at night.

    Not me, not today.....

If you can find anyplace where Obama has said "I killed bin Laden" please post it. No CINC is ever responsible for what his generals do, even though he has ordered them to do it. At least Obama did not say he found getting Osama "unimportant" like Bush did, and thus denigrated the memories of the several who did die heroically pursuing him

You capitalize something for clarity, it indicates no respect. Are you saying that all the several thousand people named "Hitler" are actuall Nazis unless you call them 'hitlers'?

Obviously we're on different sides of the coin but I do respect you, and your feelings.

I'm also glad that you stuck to mostly facts and your intelligent feelings on the matter, so for that, once again I resect the way you feel.

Lets just both hope that somehow the future will bring an end to these radicalized lunatics, and that the millions of people they have harmed can get back to some semblance of life somewhere, if not here.

Some of your points here are valid, but once again, we're on different sides of the coin and I absolutely don't mean politics or political ideology.

I jus feel as though this president will never get any credit for anything from the right, no matter what the event, circumstance's or verification of proof.

Take his place of birth and religion for example, there are still many who just won't let that stuff go.

Luis Gutierrez is a senator currently working on the immigration bill, and there was a documentary all about how he tried to get republicans to get on board with a bill.

Every republican he met with told him that the only way they would even agree to meet with him is if the president's name was not on the bill or attached to it in any way. They absolutely wanted nothing to do with anything that might even remotely look like they were cooperating or working with the president.

It literally left the senator in tears, really it was amazing.

There's a clip of senator Gutierrez saying:

"If the world went dark, and president Obama had the key to light....republicans would prefer the dark"

You and I can go back & forth until the world ends, but that my friend.......is true, and that's damn sad, and damn shameful.

Gutierrez is a far, far left radical who is consumed with amnesty for illegals and open borders. The fact he is so supportive of obama is a measure of obama's extremism.

And almost everyone - R and D - has been distancing themselves from obama and have been for years. obama is wildly unpopular.

Profiling is simply the intelligent application of limited resources to maximize effectiveness. Terrorists have signatures, they are not evenly distributed throughout all segments of the population. If you want to find an eco-terrorist you look where an eco-terrorist would be. The same with a muslim terrorist. Muslim terrorists have identifiable characteristics notably travel to/from certain parts of the world (Syria, Libya, Lebanon, etc), certain ethnicity, and they are muslim. Efforts should take that nto account, that's just rational.

Who is most likely to be a terrorist: a 4th generation white Canadian who has a family, a job he has held for 20 years, and who is traveling to the US on business as he has done before; or a single man in his 20's from Syria who is muslim and whose background is unknown? It makes no sense at all to treat everyone as if they could be a terrorist.

That's a poor argument. If a person advises people learn to drive or swim, would you hold that person responsible for all the car accidents or drownings? Its up to each person to behave responsibly, I am not responsible for your actions. That's a major flaw with "progressives", they think they can control other people - they cannot.

First, with well over 100 Million gun owners in the USA, there were 505 accidental shooting deaths in 2013, a ridiculously small number. And there are few cases of people accidentally shooting bystanders. Americans are doing quite well handling their firearms properly.

In the Oregon Umpqua College shooting, at least one person fought back but was unarmed and was shot. Chris Mintz, an Army veteran, was in the classroom with the shooter and rushed the shooter and was shot 7 times. What if he had been armed, how many of the ultimately 9 killed by the murderer would still be alive?

Its all hypothetical and that's one problem because anti-gun people always assume the worst (which is the best for their anti-gun argument). If Christ Mintz had been armed and at the start of the shooting Mintz had shot and killed the murderer, but also accidentally shot another hostage, then the anti-gun crowd would complain that he should have waited for the cops, they would want Mintz charged with manslaughter. We would not know that Mintz would have saved 9 people from being killed by the murderer.

Or in the Paris Bataclan Theater, if hostages had been armed there might have been fewer deaths, but the anti-gun crowd will claim that there would have been more than 89 dead and 200 wounded because of the "wild shooting" from hostages.

In the end, would you rather be able to defend yourself if you were in such a situation, at least have the option? Or would you rather everyone just be sheep led to the slaughter?

Of course you are on the Left.

Obama said he was a Christian. Obama is a liar and a Marxist. You go on and believe what ever he says.

You go off topic on a wild rant on Whites in America. You of course can't complain about Christians fighting each other in any significant way in the entire world for over 400 years. Is that not awesome! What is the real religion of peace then?

So, on to the next bit of backsliding on your part about Christian terrorists---there really are not any. Virtually all terror groups over the last decades have been Islamic or Marxist atheists. The IRA were not fighting for Catholics, they were fighting the British rule. But you seem unwilling to connect the dots, with all the places in the world with terrorism, with all the major Islamic attacks in the West---you refuse to see reality: The Koran tells its followers to do these things. The Bible is not telling modern Christians to kill all unbelievers just because the Hebrews wiped-out the Canaanites eons ago.

    http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/quran/023-violence.htm

Why apologize for Syrians? Who cares what Syria was like 4 thousand years ago---there were not even the same genetic or political groups or religious groups there then that there is now. Syria is yet another example of how Islam is so wicked that even its own die hards can't live in peace with one another. FAIL.

As far as the entire region of North Africa since the Islamics ethnically cleansed and amalgamated all the Whites and others to oblivion over the last 1,000 years:

You didn't even bother trying to list anything or anyone the Islamics have done themselves. No great buildings, cities, inventions, discoveries or leaders since the ancient Egyptians, Carthagenians, Romans and Greeks were wiped out.

The military is doing what Obama and his radical Left advisors tell him. Obama has had ZERO military experience , along with his gay pal Ash Carter---they have shown how worthless their leadership has been.

I of course didn't mean to level terror mosques here in the US, they can simply be closed down. But the Mosque to the Islamic faithful is their territory. Each time they set one up, they plant the foundations for Sharia Law. So for the Muslims who recruit and use mosques (whatever their historical importance may be) they should be bombed with JDAM's after leaflets have been dropped 30 minutes beforehand.

I only know of one good Muslim in all my years personally---and he left Iran after the devout took over in the 70's. But until Muslims can show the maturity to clean up their own act---until the Sunni and Shia, Kurds and others can show the world they can work and fight together to wipe out groups like ISIS (as if they ever would)---then there is really no great reason to risk having more Muslims, or really anyone from these war zones immigrate here.
