I'd like to see RFK Jr be part of Presidential Debates. He is currently polling about 10%. If he continues to poll well and gets on the ballot in a good number of states, he should be on the stage.
RFK Jr is just a distraction. Not a serious candidate. He has made some good points, but I haven't seen anything new. However, these elections are Biden v Trump. And they are too important for us to get distracted from the fact that those are our ONLY choices.
Nah, I say he sticks around as long as possible. He's definitely leeching more from Biden than Trump and if he did get elected by some miracle, still way better than Joe.
RFK Jr would raise the interest in the debates and more people would actually watch. If it's just Trump v Biden, it will be a snooze and no one will watch. They'll just wait for the gaffe videos and senility scores afterwards.
The RNC has withdrawn from the Commission on presidential debates. If there are to be any, a new agreement would have to be reached between Biden and Trump. https://www.npr.org/2022/04/14/1092...the-biased-commission-on-presidential-debates Although both have stated they’d like to debate, I’d say for the most part that is hot air. Campaign propaganda PR. A lesson to be learned about admitting a third party or independent candidate into the debates should come from 2016 and 1992. In 2016 the threshold was 10% in the polls to be allowed into the debates. Johnson approached that 10% threshold at 9.5% in the polls in September of 2012. The commission on presidential debates promptly raised the threshold to 15% along with stating only certain polls would count. In 1992, the League of Woman’s voters let Ross Perot in the debates, the republican and democratic party quickly took the debates away from the League. Even if there is a debate or two, doubtful, don’t look for RFK Jr. to be include if past history is anything to go by. If RFK Jr. gets on enough state ballots, get close to the 15% threshold, it wouldn’t surprise me if the threshold was then raised to 20%.
You know who would raise the ratings if somebody managed the impossible? Which is to persuade him to participate? Trump! Very few people give a crap about what RFK Jr has to say. He's popular on the right because of his anti-vaccine conspiracy theories. But those no longer interest anybody. That's the only reason why right-wingers who don't like Trump like him. But most of them will likely be turned off when they find out that his top life-long fight has been for protecting the environment and stopping Climate Change. He's somewhat popular on the left only because of his last name. But people who don't like Biden, but wouldn't vote for Trump because of his criminal activities, will be turned off when they learn that he too did time for drug possession. And that just about everybody in the Kennedy family involved in politics has distanced themselves from him. I tend to think it's going to be just Biden. I don't think either Trump's campaign or his attorneys want to see him debate Biden. He would probably just incriminate himself in more crimes. But if he DOES participate, the ratings will be record-breaking of people who tune in to watch because they think one of the old farts will make a fool of themselves. But MAGAs have been disappointed as he keeps showing up for events and demonstrates that his mind is the same as ever (gaffes abound like always, but still knows his stuff)
RFK would destroy Trump in a debate, even harder than Trump would destroy Biden in a debate. RFK vs Biden in a debate ...well Biden's handlers will not let that happen. It would be great tho.
Did you see Biden at the White House Correspondents Dinner? You know the event Trimp would not attend whilst he was president?
