Its a psychological analysis. I've already given the authors behind it. You need to contemplate a little more before responding
So muslims are severely "mentally challenged, right? Because there is no group more hateful and violent than the inbred, brain dead muslims of the world. You know, the ones always maiming and killing.
I see some people are unduly influenced in their thinking by "authority", as in believing everything they read by anyone with a "degree", especially "authority" that reinforces their own bigotry. That happened a lot in the past. I seem to remember other races were treated in a similar manner at one time.
Sounds more of the same-old, same-old to me. Libs trying to smear conservatives by calling them racist and ignorant. What else is new? It happens everytime there is an election here. You guys need to get a new mantra; this one is pretty worn out.
The large contingent of ignorant line bred Southerners here in the US who make up the so called Christian Zionist movement led by snake oil peddlers like John Hagee can compete with any group worldwide when it comes to downright stupidity, hatred and all around mental illness....USA! USA! USA!
But already flawed from it's inception, as I've already explained. It sounds like someone is bowing to authority without doing a little thinking on their own. It's a common psychological fault I understand.
I presume we talking "right wing attitudes" in terms of socially, not economically? Generally the "right-wing", at least socially, is often interested with keeping things the same or preserving some kind of "tradition" that doesn't always have much practical worth but instead is given some kind of higher meaning by those who support it. Segregation and their supporters were a good example of that. People defended it by saying that it was "tradition". Since racism today often manifests itself as a longing for the past, it's obvious why there would be more racism in right wing ranks, even if only small amounts. But in the end there's so many different meanings for what or who is "right wing" or "conservative" that it's very hard to draw definite conclusions. By some definitions you could say anybody who supports the status quo at any given time period is a conservative.
British leftists have made many enemies among the American people. The time will come when Britain needs America's help. I can't wait to kill British hopes.
You haven't provided one genuine critique of the methodology employed. Let''s try an alternative strategy. Present me with a study that disputes the paper's findings?
Yep These methodologies are quantitative and therefore use multiple questionnaire responses to define social conservatism (e.g. Give law breakers stiffer sentences; Schools should teach children to obey authority; Family life suffers if mum is working full-time)
That's the sort of stuff I mean. Knowing nothing whatever about me, you judge that anyone who wears shoes, can read and lives outside Crapper' Creek is as thick as those who don't and can't. No prize for you in the Imperialists' Quiz, kid.
Here you are, doing what you claim others do. That is a trait of the unthinking and uneducated and frankly, at the expense of thinking liberals. That does not mean you didn't go to school, just that you don't know people. You only know your bigoted view of the world. Don't be concerned, you have company on both sides of the fence and are not alone. I know what you present in public and I know this (below) about you. It speaks volumes.
Most American conservatives are better read than virtually all British leftists. If you agree with the preceding sentence do not respond to this post.
Reading that kind of made me laugh. What is the opposite of social conservatism? e.g. “Give law breakers weaker sentences”; “Schools should teach children to ignore authority”; “Family life is much better if mum is working full-time” Most people have to simplify things to make decisions, it is a natural thing to do; thus, making two groups, conservatives and liberals, turns the issue into black and white. The truth is that no one fits those molds completely. Things also change. For instance, I have always been anti-establishment and still am. What used to be a very liberal view is now considered heresy by liberals and a conservative or even militant attitude.
Liberal. Referring to social concerns is of course importance as economic conservatism is a more fluid concept (e.g. fiscal conservatism versus the use of conservatism within a weighted social welfare function where 'losses' are weighted higher) Who said they did? Its standard to use scales in this type of analysis. This then encourages specific regression methodologies
I've already critiqued the study, based on the definition of "right wing authoritarian." That's a phrase that has different meanings in differing countries based on their political histories. That's the flaw in the study. It might apply in the UK but doesn't in the US.
This isn't a critique; its a simple error where you don't appreciate that its a psychological approach that is independent of country-specific party politics. Note that the authors do study both British and US data samples
That is BS.I dont hate blacks but it is obvious that the vast majority of them are mentally and morally ibferior.
It's not that I don't think you understand what I'm saying, I just think you don't care in order to push your agenda. OK push away.
Explain your problem. Do you propose that the American racist-right is higly literate or that it doesn't matter whether they read or not?
Again, you're making irrelevant remark (and then assuming otherwise). The right wing scale used is not US or British specific. Even if it was you wouldn't have a point as both British and American data is utilised
I used to be like you, a blind liberal. Yes there are blind conservatives but I have no use for either. It is better to listen and grow than to prove ignorance. One cannot listen through one's tongue. The snake which cannot cast its skin has to die. As well the minds which are prevented from changing their opinions; they cease to be mind. ― Friedrich Nietzsche
