I see. So you can't answer. It was a good question. A lot of us want to know the answer. We are all very puzzled by this jihad you are calling over the desecration of your religous symbol. Its just a bit of rag dude. Harden up and get over it,
To a simple mind, a flag might be just a bit of rag. To the rest of the world, a flag represents it`s people. To burn a Nation`s flag, is to spit in the face of every one of it`s people, even those too thick to see it. Just don`t cry when the going gets rough for the weaklings & missfits who don`t get it.
The only one simple minded is you, there is only black and white for ya, literally! What the flag (the latest Aussie one, blue' ish in colour with a couple of stars in between) means to some, it doesn't mean to others. And those others have reasons of their own. Nowhere is it as clear to watch as in our country...... If they burn our flag on Invasion day, why not, you would do exactely the same, were you born in their tribe. But funny enough, we all call ourselves Australian......
Breaking news! It`s 2012! Crying over the past only makes things worse. The weak sit and cry, while the strong move on.
I'm sorry... we're "weak" because we don't get teary when someone "disrespects" us? I don't care much for symbolism and I really don't care if some protesters burn a flag to try and make some point. Generally I just think it's a bit over the top, but that is as "emotional" as I get over such things.
Double standard anyone Wants the flag revered because of what it has meant in the past but wants us to forget about the damage we have caused to a whole race of people
OK I see. Like how when sometimes when people do something that may be seen to disrespect the name or image of the Prophet, some Muslim people consider that to be a spit in the face of every one of its people. You are coming from the same sort of mindset. Now I got it. Whatever turns you on dude - but I find that sort of chauvanism pretty backward and infantile. How to you intend to punish people who "disrespect" your little symbol?
Good. So we are all looking forward to the introduction of the carbon pricing scheme that the government told us they would introduce at the 2010 election, and get over the fact that they failed to introduce a proper carbon tax which probably would have been much more effective.
Then answer my request for clarification on your question. What do you mean by 'ok'? Remember originally we were talking about people burning the flag, which is a rather extreme form of disrespecting it would you agree? I already explained to you destroying a flag is a type of disrespect, but there are lots of types of disrespect.... giving it the finger is disrespectful but not equivilant to burning it...... so now additionally to explaining what you mean by 'ok' why don't you also explain what you mean by disrespect. If you can give a straight answer then that way I'm sure you will get a straight answer as it was your question afterall.
100% wrong on all counts. There is a lot of good in this country, always has been. Those who want to drag the place down should try living somewhere else for a while. As for Aborigines, the most lethal problem they face is that victim mentality, the problem ones will never take responsibility for themselves & their children while they`ve someone else to blame.
So - "victim mentality' gives them a diabetes rate 6 times higher than non-indigenous Australians!?!? Double the rate of death from circulatory diseases?!?! 10 time the rate of respiratory infections?!?! Tell us more Doctor! http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Aboriginal_health_issues
Dont forget the child rapes, thats much more prevelant too in some Aboriginal communities - from what I've heard from aborigines.
Now you`re getting the idea. A negative mind set causes ill health in itself, along with poor lifestyle choices. Try to remember, we are talking about people here, not political point scoring.
No, the biggest problem they have is the ongoing racism that most do not even realise is racist i.e. calling indigenous people "abos and gins" repeating the myth about "can't give them anything or they will trash it" do you want me to go on...........' Meanwhile EVERY SINGLE DAY I am at work I see evidence of the health outcomes gap. I live in an area of Australia that has a higher rate of Rheumatic Heart Disease than most third world countries - and we have no echocardiogram and no cardiographer
All of my black mates are Abos, other than the Murris & TI`s, Fijians, Solos, none of them give a stuff about little things like names, or abreviations. One abo mate up north, who`s got a bit of Chinese in him, loves to say "I`m so bloody hungry I could eat myself". Don`t try to turn Aborigines into stiff shirts, it`s just not them.
Yes and comics like Steady Eddy" could make fun of disabilities but that does give you the right to do the same Racism that comes in the form of a white sheet and a burning cross in some ways is easier to defend against than the "death of a thousand cuts" that is the sideways look of someone, the sniff and head turn, the eye rolling and the hundred million little ways one person can put another down. NOT using the term "Abo" reminds yourself every single day not to join the "better than thou" group adding to the racist burden
