While Michelle lectures children to cut out the fat and eat their vegetables unadorned with caloric sauces, she served the governors who are in Washington for their annual meeting a feast that included lard-marbled steak, vegetables slathered with dairy enhancements, and dessert. The White House has proposed mandating meals for elementary school kids that include none of these items, or anything like them. Here, for example, is the Wednesday lunch from a proposal on the White House website. Chefs salad: (1 cup romaine, .5 oz low-fat mozzarella, 1.5 oz grilled chicken) with whole wheat bread Soft pretzel (2.5 oz) Corn, cooked (1/2 cup) Baby carrots, raw (1/4 cup) Banana Skim chocolate milk (8 oz) Low rat ranch dressing (1.5 oz) Low fat italian dressing (1.5 oz) Heres what the governors got: Garden salad Bread and butter Ribeye steak 12 oz Creamed spinach Crab mac and cheese Pear tart with ice cream White wine Based on conservative estimates of caloric totals for each of the items that found their way to the governors plates, and assuming consumption of a single glass of wine from the bottles that were placed on the tables, the total intake amounted to about 2,250 calories. The recommended intake for an adult male during AN ENTIRE DAY is about 2,500 calories. For women, its about 2,000 calories. I hope the White House included a note on its invitation to the governors to fast until dinner. ### Do as we say, not as we do... the Obamas' Mantra.
I wonder when the rest of the country is going to wake up to the fact that we are heading toward one "mandate" after another, with these two in the White House? I hate to wish summer away, but November can't get here soon enough, IMO.

Why does B.O. seem to have his finger up his nose a lot? I've seen that in a lot of his so-called speeches, like he's just sniffed coke or something. Or, maybe he can feel his nose growing, little by little, lie after lie. Our Pinnochio prez!
These two do look ready to set the world on fire, eh? Either that, or they're one step away from embalming. Geesh, look alive, would ya? At the salaries we pay you guys, the least you could do is LOOK BUSY.
And, there is Barack with his shoes on the furniture again. Biden must be explaining something very profound, too. LOL
Yeah, I know... rules are made for conservatives, not libs; however, (6) No posting of excessive amounts of text not related to the thread, .... This also include using bold characters in excess such that the post takes up an unreasonable amount of space. Maybe if you really don't have anything to add, you should just refrain from posting, eh?
Wonder if this is listed as official presidential duty... or campaign fundraiser? I'd guess it's the latter. On the taxpayer's dime, of course.
At least he was honest about it. Look at today's schedule... he's pulling 6.5 hrs at the most. How many of us with full-time jobs can get away with working 6.5 hrs a day?

Doing what he does best (instead of what we're paying him to do): President Obama hits campaign speed in UAW speech 02/28/2012 In the swirl of news coverage focused on the Republican presidential primaries in Michigan and Arizona today, its easy to miss the speech that President Obama delivered to a group of United Auto Workers in D.C. today. But, it was a speech not to be missed the closest thing we have seen to Obama running at full campaign speed we have seen yet in the 2012 race. This was Obama at his full-throated best showing the fight that many Democrats have long, well, longed for. He even said as much: Ill promise you this: as long as youve got an ounce of fight left in you, Ill have a ton of fight left in me. But it wasnt just the tone that was worth remembering. It was the subject matter. For Obama to win a second term, he has to make the case that he not only took on major challenges but also solved at least some of them. While the economy writ large has been improving of late, not even the rosiest Democratic analysts believe that things like the unemployment rate will drop precipitously between now and November. Given that reality, Obama needs to find smaller success stories that allow him to effectively make a promises made, promises kept argument. The recovery of the auto industry is sure to be front and center in that argument from the Administration. If we had turned our backs on you; if America had thrown in the towel; GM and Chrysler wouldnt exist today, Obama said to huge cheers from the UAW crowd. I placed my bet on American workers...three years later, the American auto industry is back. Promise made, promise kept. ... It also should serve as a reminder for Republicans that while Obama has struggled mightily at times at governance, he remains one of the most gifted if not the most gifted campaigners in modern politics. Beating him in November will be no easy task.
Whew...that man is going to have to slow down some. At this pace, he's liable to burn out. Pathetic, again.
Is he going to splain to them how much he's raising their healthcare costs and breaking the contract that America has with them?
Less 22 SEALS which is the biggest casualty in that elite special forces history.Yet,it remains almost a mystery. The media has issued a blackout on any reporting of those 22 Seals, some of which were involved in the Bin Laden assassination plot. Those seals losing their life when an old National guard helicopter was used to transport got shot down. Which is very irregular.Seals almost always travel in exclusive small groups of 6 men or less. They seldom use anything but the most upscale Helicopters.
