First, I'm not a right winger, I'm a real liberal. But he is wrong to say such things, he sank to Jerimiah Wright levels with that tyrade.

Self-absorbtion is such an ugly trait. Nothing's more important than allowing gays to marry. Got it.

There is nothing more important for a society to do than give equal rigths to all its citizens.

Two words for you: electrified fence.

And don't think you're in a position to school me on how preachers work. I was raised in a religious household and briefly attended a religious school. It's exactly because some preachers say really stupid crap that my parents didn't keep me there.

What I see here is you making up some lesson you think the preacher was trying to get across in order to avoid having to deal with the true import of his actual words. Keep right on wriggling, but you can't escape what he actually said.

Think reality. Don't get stuck in imagination land with Charles Worley.

the fact that anyone who purports to be a Christian can have anything other than revulsion for this preacher is truly amazing. But yet...eleven pages into this and plenty of people here have been attempting to minimize the meaning of his sermon. really sad. really repulsive.

The same Charles Worley circa 1978. Move the slider to about 9:40. What you'll hear: Worley's anger over the fact that homosexuals were gaining ground in public opinion, ending with a statement that "40 years ago, they would have hung 'em Bless God from a White Oak tree".

Make of it what you will.

This pervert pastor is just another sick old man begging for attention. Anyone, Christian or not, who thinks God accepts hate is a frikkin idiot! I swear...if Jesus were alive today he'd be prosecuted for wearing a dress, having long hair, never being married, and caring for his fellow man.

If Fox News existed during Jesus's day the crucifiction story would have read:

"Government crucifies long haired socialist hippie who was threatening the establishment."

You can answer this by asking why he was crucified.

The Pharisees weren't the establishment, so I ask you again, what establishment did He threaten?

    A hierarchy is an establishment.

You are slitting hairs for, from what I can see, little or no reason.

The Pharisees were not the establishment? Really? Then how did they have the political control over Jerusalem and its evirons if they were not the "establishment"?

They had to get the OK from the Roman Governor, also their method of execution was stoning, not crucifixtion. I was trying to get someone to go back to the scriptures but since you don't do that, God killed Jesus. It was a sacrafice, to atone for the sins of the elect. Jesus said not my will but thy will be done. He also says if He wanted He could be freed.

51 And behold, one of those who were with Jesus reached and drew out his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear. 52 Then Jesus *said to him, “Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then will the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?”

    Matthew 26:51-54

Saying the Jews killed Jesus is the same anti-semitism, that caused Martin Luther to flip his lid, as well as many reasoning away of the Holocaust.

Um... nope. Saying the Jews killed Jesus is stating a simply historical fact.

Stating that simple historical fact has little to do with anti-semitism.

It's really hard to imagine that anyone who claims to stand as a Christian could preach this garbage.

Charles L. Worley, North Carolina Pastor: Put Gays And Lesbians In Electrified Pen To Kill Them Off

    North Carolina Pastor

The barrage of anti-gay sermons delivered by North Carolina-based pastors to hit the blogosphere continues with yet another disturbing rant caught on tape.

The pastor, identified on YouTube as Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, N.C., condemns President Obama's much-publicized endorsement of same-sex marriage while calling for gays and lesbians to be put in an electrified pen and ultimately killed off.

Well, we'll see how he feels about that when someone crops up with a bathroom stall or masseuse story about him.
