Fools can rarely make sense out of what their superiors say, and yes, you humor failed. Miserably. You start off claiming nobody of any importance to society has a tattoo. When you're shown your claim is nothing but a steaming pile of (*)(*)(*)(*), you pretend that your claim is still good because a lower ratio of "scientists" have tattoos compared to everyone else. That is known as moving the goal posts. Instead of admitting your claim was incredibly ignorant and false, you pretend it doesn't matter because NOW you mean something else that directly refutes your original statement.
Not one or 2 or even maybe 3.But it used to be.Even Military guys with 3 tattoo were seen as outcasts. They could never get into a Country Club with a noticeable Tattoo.Forget about any men's Club. One could never be on a Board of Directors with a forearm tattoo. There's a reason for that. It's a branding. One is branding themself with the notion that somehow a Tattoo says something. Yeah ... It used to spell Instant Loser. Does Richard Speck ring a dinghy. - Born to raise HELL
but its not that way anymore. There are still conservative companies but if your tattoos are covered at work no one knows anyway.
Cop out for some, reason enough for others. Live and let live. Personally, I find excessive tattoos ugly instead of artful, but I won't judge another by the type of body art, or the lack thereof.
And that is perfectly fine... If you don't like em, you don't like em... But, all the nonsense in this thread is beyond ridiculous...
What difference does it make whether it is one, two, three or fifty? Do you realize how ridiculously petty you are being? And who gives a crap about country clubs or men's clubs? If they want to judge people based on looks, fine, that is their prerogative. If that is your cup of tea and what you enjoy then fine, it's your life. I am not going to now go and call you a pompous (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) for joining a country club like most of those guys seem to be. And tattoos should say something or mean something to the person who got them. Instead of rolling your eyes, maybe next time ask the person. You will be surprised sometimes at how much thought goes into them and might see/realize things that you never would have. And I do have writing on me. One says "In memory of Michael" and the other says "Every man dies, not every man really lives." (*)(*)(*)(*) me to hell for all I care.
There are 2 tattoo parlors within 5 miles of Muirfield, Ohio...which if your not familiar with...is the same area where the Memorial Tournament is held every year. Yeah...that's such a scuzzy area!!
Is it right next to the Memorial red light district, the Memorial Pawn shop district? Do they have a problem with those disgusting blue collar workers and their bars? Sounds like someone's "proof" just went "poof".
Wait a second here. I may describe myself as "husky," but I'm certainly not obese...and never have been About a year ago probably at my peak weight of 220 lbs. on a 6' 1" frame. I've lost about 15 pounds since. I was in the service and obesity is not tolerated... I was 39 here Never said I don't exercise, I said I don't like to exercise... besides some of weight gain since leaving the service is attributable to various medications fighting prostate cancer... and of course some of it by eating improperly. I've seen plenty of overweght people with tattoos, you act as though everyone with a tattoo is the picture of health... not from what I see out there. I'd venture my physical conditioning in the course of my lifetime is superior to the average person with a tattoo. You're implying I'm some sort of couch potato from childhood on..and that is an inaccurate judgment. Should you attack me on doing "dumb" things, riding a motorcycle would probably be at the top of the list... and where did say in my post that I was free of "dumb" behavior... My point was that tattoos, to me at least, are a dumb behavior...never stated it was the only dumb behavior or that I'm immune to dumb behaviors...getting a tattoo just isn't one of them. Thanks..and do have a great day. *No ink and proud of it.*
I agree with you. Tattoo, but how many people know about the meaning of tattoo. In ancient times, tattoos had meaning - the meaning of magic. In our days of tattoos more damage than benefits because people make blood oath for any symbol without thinking what does this mean .
It goes to how one is brought up.Used to be throughour the 40's into the 60's men would never go out into public w/o a clean shirt and trousers. And a hat.Back in the 40's most men would never go out w/o their sunday best clothes. It defined respectability. The Black Community was the same way. They went out into public looking their best. Just go back and look at Pictures from the 1940's and 1950's. Not in the heat of summer photo's either. Having a Tattoo used to be a sign of either a Military enlisted man who decided one night while on shore leave to get drunk and also a Tattoo. I know of no grown-up Man while a kid in my Parish who had a Tattoo. And certainly NO Woman. We have deconstructed That Far. It's already fashionable for Kids to wear their clothes hanging half off their butt and their underwear in plain view. That kinda stuff was somethin only Retard kids did because they didn't know any better.Next thing it will fashionable to walk around in public scratching one's testicles. Oh ... Pardom me Moi.It already is.
Still disregarding what the Bible, which is what you claim to be basing your dislike of tattoos off of, says about judging, I see...
The Old Testament does specifically indicate tattoos and/or marks on the body are prohibited... Leviticus. I brought it up in a prior post on this thread.
As mentioned before, tattoos are supposed to signify a meaning of some sorts. Tattoos have been used the world over by not just "criminals and lowlifes"... Ritual and tradition have been common and constant factors in tattooing. In Borneo, for example, women bore a symbol on their arms to denote their specific skills, thus increasing their potential for marriage, whilst tattoos worn around the fingers and wrist were said to ward off illness. Clan or society membership have also often been symbolised by tattoos throughout history. It has also been believed that the wearer of an image calls the spirit of that image. For example, the ferocity of a tiger would belong to the person baring this tattoo. Although controversial, many believe tattooing originates in Egypt, from the time of the Pharaohs and the construction of the Great Pyramids. As the Egyptian Empire spread, so did the art of tattooing and around 2000 BC it reached China. In ancient Greece, the tattoo was used to mark spies while the Romans used the tattoo to mark slaves and criminals. In western Asia, the Ainu people used tattoos to signify social status. The Ainu were said to have carried the art to Japan where is became a mark of religion. Dayak warriors who had 'taken a head' were signified by a tattoo on the hand. The Polynesians employed tattoos to denote status, tribal communities and rank. They carried this art to New Zealand where a facial tattoo, Moko, was developed. The Danes, Saxons and Norse were often tattooed with their family crest.
So you feel the same about makeup, haircuts, ear piercings, circumcision, plastic surgery, etc? The very notion that one can know how others feel about artwork, whether on their body or on canvas, is insane. It's like motorcycles, everyone has a reason for what they want to use to get to their destination. Just because some insane people claim jurisdiction over your body doensn't mean that you don't rightfully own it. And why is it that you feel that this teaching was correct?
Please Herk, dont attempt to polish a turd with me. Those are healthy B cup titties I see there through the shirt. Its completly debatable the level of idiocy it takes to get a tattoo. Smart people have them, dumb, rich, poor, doctors, and convicts. Every walk of life has someone with a tattoo, and from personal experience its never affected me in a negative way. Never had a problem finding a job, a good woman, a loan, or been hassled by law enforcement. I think the general public is much more likely to look at an someone trashing their physical health as a dumbass.
I see where you are coming from. You miss the good ol' days. The days when people respected their elders, people seemed to dress well and treat each other with dignity. The days when men could have a fight and then grab a beer together afterwards and women generally didn't dress slutty. You seem to link tattoos with the destruction of that generation. I am only 27, so I never got to live in a time like that, but I can see how compared to today, it can be well sought after. Now your mistake is you are trying to clump together different generations and sub-cultures. Now, I might have tattoos, but I am a fitness fanatic, I eat healthy and I try to dress as nice as my wallet will allow. You would never catch me dead with my pants hanging off my ass. I also have a college degree and am a hard worker. I still respect my elders and hold the door for strangers and always say 'thank you' and 'your welcome.' So my point is, try not to clump us all together into one category. I just happen to be a regular person who likes tattoos.
Personal attacks aside...and duly noted indicative of your character...or lack thereof. Once again, you're avoiding the truth that there is no correlation between the tattooed being in better physical condition. Tattoos do nothing to improve one's health. Nothing, in fact the risk of contracting Hepatitis is increased...and often times those getting tattoos are prone to other risky behaviors...such as smoking cigarettes, mulitiple sexual partners..etc. I could post photos of fat folks with tattoos...literally...all day. Should I therefore make the correlation that tattoos make a person fat? Never have tried to make the point. You're just taking cheap shots...when I have tried to establish an honest dialog on tattoos... It's a dumb behavior. Weight gain, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption and other harmful behaviors ...are other topics for other threads. I qualify for a 1st class medical certificate...the same as the guy who is an airline pilot...my heart and lung health is just fine thank you very much. You act as though I'm going to keel over any minute...based on a photo. Perhaps I should call you Dr. Kronik.
