The latest polls suggest that labor's primary vote is back under 30 points, however, polls suggest that under a Rudd led government the primary vote would increase to 40 points, therefore give labor a realistic chance of winning the election! Polls also suggest that Turnbull has a substantial lead over Abbott as the preferred leader of the coalition! If Labor presses the button for change, and the polls indicate a dramatic swarming to labor, you'd think that the coalition would also be tempted to press their button! Importantly the polls tend to give an indirect indication that people seem to be comfortable with labor policy and simply view Gillard with utter contempt! For those of us who are concerned about another Rudd prime ministerial-ship, should we give Abbott the benefit of the doubt? Is Rudd a changed man/leader as he proclaims therefore at least see what he can deliver this time around? I think we may be in for some of the most interesting political news if labor "press" that button!
First of all people need to realise that they vote for a PARTY, not a person. Secondly if Rudd did get in as PM, the ALP would just knife him again and put some yes bag in his place.
As is quite clear, this is not the case in the instance of Gillard and Abbott in terms of popularity! If it were true that party leadership were not an important issue than installing Anthony Mundine as liberal leader and Alan jones as the labor leader shouldn't matter!
Some interesting information just to hand. Rumour only moreso than information. It seems one of the faceless men responsible for the Rudd knifing, wasn't all that faceless at all. It was the one and only Bob Hawke that was one of the main driving forces behind the coupe of the decade. Is said that Rudd and Hawke despise each other emensely, even before Rudd was swept to power. It seems there is only room for one headline act in the ALP. The bigger ego of Hawke won the battle on the day, but seems the growing Meglomania of Rudd is gaining much momentum and may yet win the war.
You'd have have to think that labor mp's will lose their nerve. It is quite obvious that under Gillard labor will lose and lose heftily, I concede on this one! It's looking more and more likely that Rudd will be returned to the leadership! Will he win or can he win the election, would be the next question!
Actually, you vote for a person who may or may not belong to a party and who can quit the party to cross the floor whenever they feel like.
It does make sense! We should all vote in independents! Now that would make australian politics interesting!
Absolutely, but I don't think he'll go out on a limb for Gillard though, despite his resonating line about doing whatever is required to keep abbott from governing!
You wouldn't get too many things through would you? I reckon it would great for the country....somehow, but don't think it is going to happen! Too much negative press about current independents!
As a strong ALP supporter I would have thought that perpetuating the leadership problems and split in party politics would be the last thing you would wish to do. As this is exactly the cause of the ALP problems, I wonder about your resolve.
While they're doing a fantastic job it doesn't matter! It's an indication of the vigourous process of MP's who have independence in decision making! It's another one of those political furphies to suggest a party who are in disagreement aren't doing their job! The coalition party obviously don't provide the same democratic freedoms! They pretend everything is okay and then stuff up the country in the process!
LOL... that is funny, you are supporting party derision which is crippling the ALP... LOL Supports independence... LOL Yes is does, shame it does not support the ALP... LOL Democratic freedoms... Apparently that is also another total loss of logic of yours in attempts to justify the complete collapse of any organisation with a government who is fast approaching electoral demise. AND YOU PROPERGATE IT... LOL
Absolutely, the party has functioned extremely well despite the nervousness surrounding polls! Of course there is going to be some sort of derision but nothing to concern ourselves over, they've shown themselves to press through with business professionally with australias interests at hand! Bad polling is going to cause issues, which is nothing new to either side of politics! If the country was being run poorly then that is another issue! Rather great organisation out a messy situation(which won't be an issue, if they win the election) than an organised mess, which again will likely be presented to us under an Abbott government! They're just a wasteful messy party who work hard at keeping each other in check for the one authoritarian figure! I mean cheech and Chong had a good relationship, but surely you wouldn't have put your faith in them to run a country!
LOL... party is functioning well??? and derision is good for the party??? LOL Really are you that stupid??? LOL
Yeah, their fulfilling their core business! A little bit of derision isn't bad at all, but is in fact "great"!
Yes you really are that stupid... LOL No wonder you support the ALP no matter how badly they screw you... LOL
Who needs propaganda when you obviously have no idea what you’re saying? When you talk about how great the ALP is doing. When you say that party divisions are good for the government, you obviously have little idea. Perhaps if you consider that your entire premise is based on propaganda... LOL So you are proud to propagate the party division and yet your entire party is demanding it should be stopped... LOL What more stupidity would you like to display???? LOL
What are you saying by "propogate the party divisions"?.....lol! Gazza, you sure this is the word you want to use here? What I'm saying is there is nothing wrong with unsettlement as long as they are doing their job! They won't remain unsettled, now will they!
Get your dictionary out, look it up. This division has a life of its own and you are continuing it… LOL LOL... As they appear to busy attacking each other over who should challenge for leadership, I don't see how they can be doing their job. When you say they will not remain unsettled, how long do you consider it to take to sort out? Should Australia years for them to get their act together? If they continue to be (LOL) "unsettled" They probably will not have a party to be unsettled. But as you wish to continue the derision, I would assume you are unable to understand exactly what it means to divide the government... LOL
