If the Shear Strength of a steel pole is 250 Lbs per square inch and I have a 10 Lbs 1 inch by 1 inch by 10 foot length of wood....all I have to do is accelerate that piece of wood to about 350 mph and it will punch a hole right through that steel pole. If I have a 20 lbs wooden disc and I accelerate it to a high enough velocity regardless that the wood is not as dense or hard as the steel it will chop that steel pole down at impact. AboveAlpha
