Dismissive much? Who is going to be more believed someone who simply spouts what they think without supporting that opinion or someone quoting the most popular reference site on the net?

    - - - Updated - - -

Nice to quote percentages without actual numbers - nice attempt to hide the numbers

And when you find evidence of direct funding - let me know eh?

Au contraire, we are at the solar maxima and a very weak one.

Well, if that is true then we got lucky - so tell me - What is going to happen when the solar cycles go back to norm?

Assuming a direct connection between solar activity and earth's climate.......

I'm guessing that the sun's impact on global temperatures will increase and cause them to rise once again. Of course, these cycles are rather long and no one knows just how much cooler global temperatures might get before the cycle swings around. The Little Ice Age hung around for a long time (300-500 years depending on whose definition you refer to) so the impact might stretch far beyond the actual solar activity level.

I don't know, you have the crystal ball that tells the future, you tell us.

Do you think the temperatures will go DOWN?

I don't know, I don't have that crystal ball. One thing is certain, they are not going up.

Why? Surely if the solar cycle increases we will have a rise in Temp?

There's absolutely no need to make things up and invent things that I've never said or alluded to, it constitutes libel.

NB: I have no friends at CO2 science.

Yes, we're extremely fortunate to be alive during a reasonably warm period here on the blue planet and a little extra warmth will do more good than harm.
The same cannot be said for cooling.

You still are trying to prove you have no idea what you are talking about. It is at solar maxima now and at a 100 year low, so when it goes to solar minima what do you think will happen? What happens if the cycle lengthens?

And you are misinterpreting what I am saying - there is little evidence that we will sustain that minima beyond the end of this solar cycle in a few years time

What are you talking about? We won't reach minima for at least 7 years then what happens if it lengthens or the next cycle is as tepid as this one?

Are you really happy to place your bets on a "MAYBE"? What if this cycle does not even out as predicted but goes on to reach the highs of previous years?

All CAGW has placed their bets are on "MAYBE" based on computer models. This solar maxima is on it's way toward minima so what do you think?

The fact we are in a low solar activity period is all the more alarming.

Look...I am NOT one of these...THE SKY IS FALLING!...types.

But because of what I do...and because I work with members of the U.S. Military I am aware of the massive weapon systems buildup specifically in the NAVY as we are building a Cold Weather USN. Carrier Group.

The Nimitz was to retire as 3 new Ford Stealth Class Carriers will soon be at sea...the CVN-78 Ford, CVN-79 JFK, and CVN-80 Enterprise.

Now the U.S. Navy does not want to use one of it's new Nuclear Carriers to patrol the very soon to be liquid water 365 days of the year Arctic Ocean so they are currently designing a Ice Breaking Hull Refit for the Nimitz along with it's other ships in the carrier group usually 2 Ticonderoga Class Aegis Cruisers, 4 Destroyers, Frigates, Supply ships and accompanying Los Angeles or Seawolf Subs.

We are talking about MULTIPLE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS!!!!

The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science CDIAC data has been used to develop Milltary Contingency Plans as such data is fed into networked IBM Supercomputers which we have running and calculating scenarios specific to Global Warming issues and wars 24/7....365 days a year as will U.S. Military R7D teams are RIGHT NOW designing effective CO2 Scrubbers and CO2 Storage methods so such systems can be placed within all smoke stacks as well the same is being done for auto's.

The U.S. Military KNOWS....Global Warming is man made as our Military does not have the time to play politics on this issue.

This is what I have been trying to post - the fact that the last solar cycle was such a fizzer is worrying because the sun does have an effect on the world's weather so it stands to reason that if the cycle takes off again and we see the same levels of solar activity as we saw in past years then we are stuffed

    We are already screwed.

I have tried to get this through the thick skulls of some here to no avail that when the U.S. Military starts actually DEVELOPING AND BUILDING....not just PLANNING....but actually spending Billions and building Arctic Cold Weather Carrier Groups and spending money on equipment designed for building massive Ocean Water Dams for the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers....well then ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!

Yes, it's a blog written by Andy Revkin, about a chat he had with Yair Rosenthal of Rutgers and Braddock Linsley of Columbia University.
A video of that chat is included.

Nothing changes everything, it leads to further understanding, something you're obviously not interested in.

Look....I really WISH that Global Warming was not our fault....well actually...perhaps I am GLAD it is Man Made since perhaps we might be able to do something about it but I fear it is too late for that.

The TIPPING POINT is when CO2 buildup in our atmosphere heated up average ocean temps to the point Gel Form CH4...Methane...started bubbling up to the surface.

As I posted CH4 holds in atmospheric heat at a rate 71 TIMES that of CO2.

And here is the problem....if not only the Arctic Ocean pack ice melts and along with in possibly GREENLAND Glacier ice....so much fresh water will flow into the oceans that the Ocean Water Salinity will be decreased by such an extent that the North Atlantic Currents Heat Exchange Conveyance system will stall.

If THAT happens....and it has happened in the past....we will PLUNGE into an almost IMMEDIATE ICE AGE!!!

This is no joke and the time it takes from the point the North Atlantic Current Stalls to an Ice Age occurring is not in centuries or even decades but a FEW YEARS!!!
