why, Aussies have never had a problem treating their aborigines as less than human, so what's the problem?
Jews had actually been purchasing land for a number of years and Great Briton, which held the mandate, approved of Israel becoming a nation. However, the situation has been a tragedy through the years, with blame on both sides. Thus, the past needs to be ignored in order to work out a solution. Jewish culture is of great importance for the future of Humanity. The Torah and Talmud studies involve very fine logic, and that logic helps in discovering new scientific theories. So Jewish culture is a major resource for the future of humanity. At the same time, there have been some very excellent periods in Muslim history, intellectually. The methods have been different from Jewish culture, but very important and valuable. Therefore, Palestinians are of great importance for the future of humanity. The situation is somewhat similar to what would happen if Harvard University and Oxford University were having a shooting war with each other. Everyone would think that such a war would be ridiculous. So it is with Israel and the Palestinian authority. If one is a believer, what must God be thinking about this stupid conflict which is depriving humanity of the research skills of the Arabs and Jews? It is time that Israel and the Palestinian authority joined together to meet their obligations to the future of humanity. In partnership, they could make major contributions to the security and progress of all Humanity so they have a duty to do so..
Australia would be seriously delighted. Think of the tourist money, and other kinds of new income that would be brought into Australia if that were to happen.
Many of the purchases were from absentee landlords and the British never ever approved of a jewish homeland which ignored the UN and declared itself a State on Palestinian territory.
Australia is too remote. How about Israel ? The Israelis don't have a problem with treating the indigenous population as ' less than human ' either.
naw, Aus deserves what they think is a good idea. And they can have the surrounding neighborhoods as well. Just think of it, the UN, The Capital of Liberalism..in their own back yard....they got to be having (*)(*)(*)(*) fits about the potential for UN protection
The UN is a joke. Just ignore it. It wasn't enough for us to monopolize power in governments on a state or national level, we're going to have to do the same on a global level. That sucks, and history shows that associations that start out in that fashion inevitably devolve into centralized power structures eventually. Just look at the US Federal government - ideal example. The UN will succeed in its mandate to the extent it devalues national sovereignty. Otherwise it will remain ineffective. In short, they've got to come up with more R2P rhetoric to justify greater and greater intervention.
The Balfour Declaration, the San Remo Conference, the Palestine Mandate, and the United Nations all approved a Jewish State in Palestine.
What at pity then that the Zionists ignored their windfall and chose instead to declare their State over UN-mandated Palestine- and thus became international pariahs.
founder, there is a frank and purposeful replacement of topic by israeli theme. And you know it. Feel free to ban me.
Wrong again, the opposition came from the Arabs, UN suggested an agreement and Arab refusal denied that option so since the world continued to spin even with an Arab refusal - Israel declared indipendance and was accepted by the UN, much like now - the sun does not rise and set from Arab hairy butts....
Nooooo, Israel declared- THE STATE OF ISRAEL is prepared to cooperate with the agencies and representatives of the United Nations in implementing the resolution of the General Assembly of the 29th November, 1947, and will take steps to bring about the economic union of the whole of Eretz-Israel. It was Arabs who declared their nation over all of the former British Mandate.
They made that unilateral declaration whilst they occupied vast areas of Palestine. They ignored UN-mandated ' Israel '
The Jews declared a state within the borders of the land given to them by UN resolution 181. The UN later recognized Israel, within its expanded borders, in 1949. If the Arabs didn't attack Israel, Israel would be tremendously smaller today.
Neither UK nor UNO had any right to decide about taking away the land of Palestinian Semites and giving it to potential European migrants who believed in their own "chosenness". That is the reason why the Balfour declaration and any other "promises" did never approve any exclusive "Jewish state". All these "declarations" and "plans" were just proposals and recommendations, and it is perfectly legal to reject a proposal or a recommendation. The "partition plan" was only a recommendation or a proposal, and the native Semites of Palestine were not obliged to say: "Yes, we recognise the potential European migrants as 'God-Chosen', we are going to give our land to these migrants". The native Semites in Palestine had the right to say NO, like it was the case with the Russian population of Crimea, who also had the right to say "NO" in the recent poll, but they decided to say "YES". So we have two situations: In one case the population of Crimea said "Yes, we want to be part of Russia", but they are called "bad guys", though there were no massacres and no ethnic cleansing on the Crimean Peninsula. In the other case the population of Palestine said "No, we do not accept the UNO-Recommendation, we do not want any "Jewish state" with millions of European migrants on our territory", and precisely for that they are called "bad guys" by the Zionists, and the ongoing land robbery, ethnic cleansing and massacres in Palestine are blamed on the decision of the native Semitic population of Palestine who did not accept the proposed by the UNO land robbery. The Zionists ignored their "NO" to the plan and got on with conquest without any approval of the concerned people! The hypocrisy is just amazing!
israel has the legal authority, under the 4th Gevena Conventions, to build bases, infrastructure for such bases, and security barriers in the West Bank.
