Well, this kid would be well out of luck at my school, where there are no girls' toilets (what on earth are rest rooms - little cabins with bunks?)

But it seems to me that Burzmali is the only poster offering practical solutions. At mixed gender schools, why cannot they install bathrooms which have toilet facilities, a wash basin, and space to change, much like a bathroom in a private home? And failing that, for economic and space reasons, why cannot they have one transgender bathroom for the odd student who needs that?

TBH, (given the intolerance by other males of sexual ambiguity) any guy who makes public his gender confusion has to be seriously affected to do so in adolescence and at school. So the number of people requiring such facilities would be unlikely to be greater than unity at any school - surely not that difficult to accomodate?

I would prefer individual restrooms I do not think that is practical for a school setting. I am uncomfortable using a filthy restroom or even putting my butt where someone else butt had just been. So why should I worry about the comfort of the transperson in question? There is not a away in this situation to make eveyone comfortable. However if it makes 5 little girls uncomfortable to make one boy more comfortable seems 5 times worse IMO. If any of the little girls feels uncomfortable legally they have to provide them facilities the transperson is not allowed to use anyway. If enough girls felt that way they could make the school have quite the headache. If the girls do not mind then I have no problem with it.

 

Oh for crying out loud. There is no epidemic of transgendered people getting beaten up in men's rooms. It is complete bull(*)(*)(*)(*) that they are forcing girls to have to put up with males in their restrooms all so that the transgendered community doesn't get their feelings hurt. The world doesn't revolve around them nor should it. We have two sexes that is is anything other than that is a psychological issue and since we can't read minds we have to rely on the penis/vagina method. I don't care if you are gay or straight if you have a dick you use the men's room if you have a vagina then you use the women's room.

I can't wait for the first 40 something janitor or teacher claims that they have to use the girls restroom at a highschool because they have gender identity issues. This is the biggest (*)(*)(*)(*)ing scam of all time.

 

Texsdrifters post made me remember something.
On a construction job as soon as a female is hired onto the site a separate portable toilet for women must be installed. It is padlocked and only women on the site have the keys.
Just a guess but im gonna say OSHA mandates that, could be wrong but somebody mandates it.
Pretty weird that adult females have that right but school children do not.

Wrong. Its about recognizing what this little boy is going thorough and getting him help not perpetuating a myth and force those around him to accept his unnatural condition as normal. Of course the child should not be bullied but not because others should be forced to accept his confusion but to feel sorry for his dilemma and pity his mental crisis.

 

In the case Cruzan vs special school district the court rejected Cruzan's sexual discrimination claim on the fact the district provided other restrooms the TG did not go to. So if the girls complain the districts lawyers likely advise to make restrooms availible that the TG can not go.

I am familiar with the rule you refer while it provides the women more privacy yet restricts opportunity. I work disaster relief and have seen supervisors choose males over females because of a work site only having one port-a-potty on site. On sites where they had one for females it was seldomly used compared to the mens. They did not have keys though so as long as nobody else
was there it was the ideal potty to select. Since I am a lesbian trapped in a male body that is ok right?

 

I never suggested otherwise. I was countering the idea that some boy could just turn up to school one day say "I feel like a girl" and be let straight in to the girls' locker room. There is obviously a much more involved process than that, not least because these things aren't easily or definitely measured.

 

Lol, I will never understand the hysteria of kids seeing each other's Pee pees. We all got the same stuff, it isn't dirty, it serves a vital function. Good lord.

There is a loop hole since we all decide to be straight or gay, we could all choose to be gay in the locker rooms and oogle each other's Pee pees in the sex segregated facilities, and just choose to be straight when we leave. If it was just too get off, why doesn't this kid simply choose to be gay while he is in the boys locker room? Why the convoluted transgender thing?

 

I agree it could lead to discrimination in choosing personnel.
On the bigger jobs it's not really a problem because there are set quotas of minorities and females,,,,,,or maybe females are considered minorities? I'm not really sure how it works but companies are required to have so many minorities. Some cities require so many minorities just from that particular city.

As for using the unlocked women's bathroom. Ehh not me. Disaster relief may have more caring people involved. Tick off a female on a construction site and you may end up without a job. Every once in awhile you'll find one that seems to get a kick out of using her special powers.

 

What are these absurd euphemisms; 'restroom', 'bathroom', 'powder room'? It's a bloody toilet and who cares who uses the damn thing!

 

For starters, if girls use them and you're going to take a leak, you need to lift up the seat first. Have you no manners?
