Cute, cutting quotes out of context. Let me guess, you are a right wing extremist we call the GOP today? lol

Irony of the year post from someone who has never responded to a single post in a forthright manner on this forum that I've seen, certainly not to one of my posts, only blockquoting and cutpasting repetitively from 90% leftblogs. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I dare you. There is nothing in your posts to this forum that remotely resembles any kind of reasonable "debate."

To the topic, well there isn't really a topic, just a flamebait, ala "when did you stop beating your wife?" Such threads are regularly, near instantly deleted from the other side here, yet this one is, surprise surprise, 8 pages long now.

And here comes the compound fallacy, "conservative through the ages" with its brother, the circular, "conservative is bad because conservative is bad" once again on ignorant display.

Says a guy who argues Banksters were forced to write loans that caused Dubya's subprime failure, liberals were the racists of the South (that liberal bastion, lol) and there was no Southern strategy even after 2 GOP Chair apologized for it *shaking head*,

I'm always amused by those who believe the Presdient who won landslide elections and attracted thousands of people who formerly opposed his party is the guy who killed his party.

The failure of the Republicans was to not follow along with the foundation Reagan built.

I think it started in the 1990s and really became problematic starting around 2000.

What's that, the 11 tax hikes AFTER he gutted taxes for the rich? To fund then run from terrorists? To have the most corrupt admin in history? To (as Guv) sign the most liberal abortion bill in the nation?

The foundation Ronnie "built" was debt and exploding Gov'r spending. The GOP has done that quite well!

Hoist by your own petard. Amusing.

While you're wallowing in denial, I'll remind you that one of the policies that RWers have been on the right side of history about (amongst many other things) - opposing FullRetardCare - has been wildly successful, as the results of the last midterm elections point out.

How's being on the wrong side of history working out for "progressives" on Capitol Hill lately? :)

Ask the bruised and battered Senate Minority Leader...

Got it. No context for right wingers.

Just don't forget to call the ACA Obamacares 10 years from now TOO, after the vast majority support it like SS, Medicare Dems brought US!

    - - - Updated - - -

Yes, the ignorance, lies and criminality did do that! The myth the right wing created is much better than the reality of Ronnie however! :clapping:

I do not care what games they want to play, so long as they get government back on the rails and moving forward, don't do so at your own peril, the American People are getting sick and tired of the BS games.

Obviously, you don't get it. The context of Harry Reid's job demotion are policies that conservatives have been on the right side of history about.

I'll be calling FullRetardCare history 10 years from now (if not earlier). :)

He still does. The mere idea of more individual freedom and less government control is enough to drive the Babeuvian Illiterati into aneurysmal fits of rage. :)

Who said I'm a Republican? I'm not really. But he made a claim that Republicans have never been on the right side of history. I provided a counter argument.

Alright, then, I was mistaken. My apologies.

I'm serious. How can you respond to someone who thinks conservatives have never, ever been right on any issue? Obviously, that person is a complete and total partisan. Otherwise known as a hack. He obviously just looks at a "D" after a candidate's name and that's good enough for him. No thought required.

I am a conservative and usually vote Republican, but there are issues where I disagree with both conservatives and Republicans. I have voted for Democrats on occasion. I just did in a local election for a state office. The partisan hack I referred to obviously can't say the same.

I don't think my stance is unusual with conservatives, as they tend to place more value on discussion and debate.

Thanks for the apology, but the guys on the right side of history who called themselves Republican's were progressive/liberals. Today they call them RINO's.

You are misusing the term "conservative" fallaciously, as has been pointed out over and over and not addressed by you.

Give me ANY policy going back 20 years? 30? 50? 100? 200? that conservatives stood on the correct side of history?

They were the Torries's who stood with King Geoge (mostly), they were the Confederate States of America who fired on the Union Army, they were isolationists during both WW's, fought labor laws, union rights, min wage, SS, Medicare, Civil rights, woman's rights, said the clean air and water acts would destroy the US economy, etc, etc, etc

    - - - Updated - - -

Should be pretty easy to point to SOMETHING the right wingers (how is that) have been on the correct side of history on right? I mean there MUST be something?

    conservative:

disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.

    cautiously moderate or purposefully low

    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/conservative

Strictly speaking, conservatism is not a political system, but rather a way of looking at the civil order. The conservative of Peru ... will differ greatly from those of Australia, for though they may share a preference for things established, the institutions and customs which they desire to preserve are not identical. [Russell Kirk (1918-1994)]

And that is why he tried to start his own party. He never went Republican.
