I love it, once again we see where Republicans get their expertise. In other news from Republitopia Ray Rice's new research in Domestic violence makes breakthrough, Ambassador Dennis Rodman arrives in North Korea and Pete Rose to chair new Gambling regulatory commission

So, YES, that was one policy that immediately came to mind.

Here's another one that immediately comes to mind, Mr. Madd Reading Comprehension Skillz: Getting rid of FullRetardCare.

    You're welcome. :)

I guess actual history is conservative then. That would make you the one that reinvents it.

I am not sure how you think a logical fallacy helps you in any way.

Nah, I think it all goes back to Nixon and the Southern Strategy and to Reagan and his hatred of the working class, which he thought could not be trusted with capital. And, of course, Nixon, Reaqan, Bush41 and Bush43 all hired the best hate mongers money could buy. Karl Rove and Frank Luntz come to mind.

I agree. But they were Republicans, and you asked for a Republican policy where they were on the right side of history. Those Republicans are a lot different than these Republicans, but they still were Republicans.

Hilarious coming from the side of the aisle that did a massive Identity Politics faceplant during the last election cycle.

How's this for the lunatic Leftist fringe's dog whistle politics: "Hope" "Change" "Fundamental Transformation"

Can we get some more "progressive" projection up in here? :)

Listen to what one conservative thinker, Bruce Bartlett, a former advisor to both President Reagan and the first President Bush, thinks about the current situation:
As he said, the Republican Party has been “hijacked by crazy people, stupid people” and he cannot understand why more of his fellow party members are not standing up to them.

(The whole 14 minute video clip is excellent. I hope you will watch it.)

What is my opinion is this: I don’t think it’s mere coincidence that the dumbing down of the Grand Old Party aligns with the rise of Fox News. That organization, watched religiously by millions, stokes paranoia and is not encumbered by facts and rational thought. And the rest of us pay the price.

The defining administration was the Reagan Administration. His association with the "Moral Majority" was death knell.

When Republicanism converted from a Political ideology to a religious ideology.

    Wallace quotes:

"They're building a bridge over the Potomac for all the white liberals fleeing to Virginia."

"This civil rights bill will wind up putting a homeowner in jail because he doesn’t sell his home to someone that some bureaucrat thinks he ought to sell it to. My friends, a man’s home is his castle…and he ought to be able to sell it to people with blue eyes and green teeth if he wants to; it’s his home."

"I am an Alabama Democrat, not a national Democrat. I’m not kin to those folks. The difference between a national Democrat and an Alabama Democrat is like the difference between a Communist and a non-Communist."

George Wallace often railed at "the left-wing pinko press" and at "pseudo-pinko-intellectuals."

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. referred to Wallace in his famous speech during the March on Washington as one of the "vicious racists" whose lips were "dripping with the words of interposition and nullification."

WHO DOES THAT SOUND LIKE TODAY:

"Today, this tyranny is imposed by the central government
which claims the right to rule over our lives under sanction of the omnipotent black-robed despots who sit on the bench of the United States Supreme Court.

This bill is fraudulent in intent, in design, and in execution. It is misnamed. Each and every provision is mistitled. It was rammed through the congress on the wave of ballyhoo, promotions, and publicity stunts reminiscent of P. T. Barnum.

It was enacted in an atmosphere of pressure, intimidation, and even cowardice, as demonstrated by the refusal of the United States Senate to adopt an amendment to submit the bill to a vote of the people."

...It is people like Senator Hubert Humphrey and other members of Americans for Democratic Action. It is people like Ralph McGill and other left-wing radical apologists.

...It was left-wing radicals who led the fight in the Senate for the so-called civil rights bill now about to enslave our nation.

Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.
    .....
The religious factions that are growing throughout our land are not using their religious clout with wisdom.... I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in 'A,' 'B,' 'C,' and 'D.' Just who do they think they are?... I will fight them every step of the way if they try to dictate their moral convictions to all Americans in the name of "conservatism."

    - Barry Goldwater, (1909–1998), five-term US Senator, Republican Party nominee for President in 1964

    I miss HONEST conservatism

Evidently, when neo-socialist reactionaries are in denial they resort to projection.

    Behold:

    "Hope" "Change" "Fundamental Transformation"

    Thanks for playing... :)
