Lawmakers in Texas, Kentucky, and Minnesota have introduced bills that would require public schools to protect students from local transgender bathroom laws........................

Like Texas, Minnesota has seen several bills introduced to protect students from transgender advocates. One bill was ntroduced once in the Senate and twice in the House as a response to the Minnesota State High School League's decision on transgender students in December to allow transgender boys to use the same hotel, locker room, and shower facilities as girls.

Kudos to those 3 states the voters who elected the brave lawmakers. One can and should absolutely feel bad for those people who cannot deal with reality about what is between their legs but, it should never ever come at risk to the rest of the children.

It is refreshing to see the 3 states put the safety of the children as well as common sense ahead of politcal correctness.

I don't agree with the $2,500 fine for schools as that affects the taxpayers. I would however prefer to see a $2,500 fine be levied upin the principal of the school and a $2,500 fine levied upon the superintendent. That way we could be assured that since they had skin in the game, they would ensure that the children are protected.

Yeah, it's a shame this country so prudish and generally messed up where sexuality is concerned. One of religion's greatest social detriments, it is, telling people they need to fear that most fundamental part of their being and box it up within a system of unnecessary rules and shovel on heaps of guilt.

It's also funny when you see images of far-away cultures where people walk around more or less nude and think nothing of it :D What acts of sexual immorality must they get up to, eh?

just me but I would not want some pre op TG showing his junk to my 7 year old daughter. Call me old fashioned. I think the bathroom TG issue is being pushed by a few straight perverts sneaking Go cams into the ladies rooms for their jollies under the guise of "I am a woman at heart".

Sexuality in a bathroom? I thought of it as more of a privacy issue and the simple act of going to the bathroom. What does religion have to do with going number 1 or number 2 for a 4th grader?

STUPID WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

We go to DEMOCRAT conventions in this state 2 - 3 times a year. Minimum 500 people for the regional ones, upwards of 3000 for bigger ones. WE have
ONE transgender woman. (SHE USED TO BE A HE and a ranking officer in the US Army--possibly a LT. COL, can't remember his rank). Anyway who cares??

A child has more of a chance of being harassed or molested by the STRAIGHT MAN who walks in a grabs a child! It's called statistics.

I see it as a major source of all this prudishness. What "protection" does a 4th grader need from a transgendered student?

If the percentage is so low, then why force men into women's locker rooms?

If you have a penis, you are male.
If you have a vagina, you are female.

    Use the appropriate facilities.

It's right in the thread title.. Anyway, the question remains. There is already a measure of privacy in public restrooms thanks to stalls. What are people afraid of? They think some pervert's going to go so far as to get sex change in order to gain access to the opposite sex's restrooms?

I will leave it to the parents to decide for the child after that it is none of your business or mine, correct?

Sorry, I was referring to my statements about it being a privacy issue.

I guess they could schedule a 30 minute "let's play doctor" period every week and that would be OK for the let's have no rules to protect our children for this over sexualization of our society.

So you want to open the door to males being able to truly access a womans bathroom just by simply saying "I feel like a woman" .

Im sure a pedophile wont give a damn about putting on a little make up and a wig to not only have access to a womens bathroom to up his chances with a woman or little girl, but to also help hid his identity.

Thanks, im sure a parent of an abducted or raped child will fully thank you. But you don't give a damn, you will happily sacrifice a child for a vote.

I'm pro-rights for all, and if gays are part of "all" then yes. Not sure what a "gay right" is.

But this bathroom mess is going to do nothing but set them back when people start getting tired of these news reports about men in the girls' bathrooms.

    Common sense will eventually prevail.

    Aren't you a dem?

When has wasteful spending ever been a problem ?

And how does your small group of DEMOCRATS counter the stories we are reading in the news almost daily ?

To share my perspective from an overall viewpoint.

    - - - Updated - - -

I think different people have their limits, I don't like the idea of my children sharing a bathroom with some of the tranns I have seen.

also, whatever rules applies to bathrooms, applies to lockerrooms. While there are plenty who get jollies off women using the bathroom (strange concept to me), the biggest issue is a boy being allowed into the girl's locker room. And the issue begins when you allow a 4th grader to use the women's bathroom, where nothing happens.

However, it's a middleschool boys wet dream to get into a lockerroom where the cheerleaders are in their panties. And if I knew I could get free access, and I wasn't allowed to get in trouble for it, or have my parents told...... man.... I would have been loving life at 13 y.o.

I'm not even sure it has to do with "some of the ones I've seen"...

I just think when parents (even the liberal ones when they are done saying "big deal") really think about it, don't want their 6, 8, 12 year old daughters to be subject to men in the same bathrooms/showers.

It's embarrassing and gives them a feeling of insecurity.

Something they dare not say aloud, or they'll be suspended.

To me it makes no sense or why a school would want to take on the liability. What privacy in a locker room? I remember some boys giving up PE because of the open showers in our HS. I imagine school has not changed that much, you have some extroverts and introverts all the while discovering who you are and how comfortable one is while being naked.

To me, this is simply respecting other peoples privacy.

I find that ideology often trumps logic and common sense. For example gun grabbers not protecting themselves because of how rare an occurance is... but yet likely wear seatbelts.

Also they don't get the fact that just because men say they feel like a woman, don't mean they are not still attracted to women and will gladly still have sex with a woman using their penise. Transgender does not always equate gay.

    Unfortunately you are absolutely correct.

    - - - Updated - - -

Hmm.... you'll have a hard time convincing me of that.

But I do get your point. It does open up potential risk.

I just think humiliation for the female gender is enough to just say no. Like the gym we read about, the schools we've read about... it's always a problem because a female complained about a male.

This lefty war on women needs to end.
