I'm fine with it and have no problem with SSM. But I am not going to get up off my coach to protest for or against. Let the radicals as you put do that. I have enough to do to take care of myself and family and hope the Braves win today.

95% of there TV shows have HOMOSEXUAL characters or themes already ! I'd like to see a little outrage about this disproportionate B.S.

Its pretty crappy to refuse to run an add for marriage equality. Its even crappier to refuse to run an add created by a soldier who served his country.

Its even crappier to refuse to run and add by a soldier who served his country because he's gay.

    - - - Updated - - -

What is he taking from other citizens? He's asking for their vote for gay marriage. Nothing more.

    - - - Updated - - -

Oh noes!! Gays on TV!!! Whatever shall we do!?! Its like they're part of society!!!

The sky is falling the sky is falling!!

    - - - Updated - - -

Well luckily for us the Church has no business in marriage what so ever.

You make some pretty broad claims considering I wasn't alive during the Vietnam war. I support our troops. I don't support them being sent into unjust wars.

And he most certainly was. He was wrong because he was a gay vet. Any straight vet wouldn't have been denied.

I apologize for missing your point.

I don't "openly" support gay marriage in that I walk around with signs, badges, pamphlets, clothing, or other forms of communication. I don't attend, and have never attended, a rally of any kind. I've never given money to any groups or politicians. I am 100% in favor of an equalization of marriage laws but I don't wear it on my sleeve. I'll say as much in conversation and debate those(depending on the environment, I live in a small town) who would oppose it. I don't choose who to vote for on this issue exclusively, but it tends to work out that any candidates who make a point of coming out against it immediately turn into (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s in my eyes(because it's an assholish position to have in my opinion). I doubt I fit the bill for what you're saying the left would approve of.

And I don't care. Neither should you. :)

Define "pushing his lifestyle choices on people".

It's sad that this guy went through so much trouble just be a poster child for gay marriage.

It makes you wonder if a military vet who was straight came home and did an ad for a group pushing traditional marriage what the military would do to him?

People in traditional marriages have never had to fight to be recognized or for equal rights. I have to shake my head and smirk as I point out the obvious...again.

And that soldier doesn't have to bring our military into his endorsement of gay marriage. It is actually against regulations to do political activism in uniform.

Why not? He's good enough to lay his life down on the line for this country then he is good enough to partake in all of the rights afforded to others. His pointing that out is totally appropriate and relevant

I'm just telling you that military personnel are not allowed to use there uniform for political purposes. It's against regulations and he should be charged with violating the UCMJ.

What difference does it make what he is wearing? His point would be well taken and valid no matter what he is wearing. Maybe you should write your Congressman and demand this guy be court marshaled. That might make you feel better and less threatened by his personal life.

Hey I don't make the rules. He could do an add for a clean water bill but he'd still be violating the law.

No, we aren't better off by having our military enter political discourse that way. Think about where that would go.

We have restrictions on others who have government positions, too. It's not just the military.

Even the president has limits on political activity.

I think as long as the candidate is not saying crazy anti-homosexual things and trying to deny them their right to be happy, most do not care, it's the old if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all attitude

I know sense I have the right to marry, I feel they should too, as long as they are both consenting adults

"“I’m a Republican, I’m a doctor, and I’m a soldier,” says a voice over by Ehrenfeld as the commercial shows images of him serving in uniform, and back at home with his boyfriend, Judd Taback. “As a military physician, I take care of other people’s loved ones who are wounded in combat. But here at home, I’m fighting a different fight. Because I’m gay, I’m not allowed to marry my partner here in Tennessee where we live.”"

some Republicans really want to silence him

He told the truth about himself and that is not against the law. I don't see how he implicated anyone or any entity or spoke on behalf of anyone else. It's not political to be honest about your personal life unless somebody chooses to read that into it. That is their problem.

Personally I do not care who marries whom or even how many one marries. As long as it is consenting adults. I personally feel the government should be out of the marriage business, completely out of it.

he was telling us a bit about himself, nothing wrong with that, most soldiers are proud of their service, not something they keep in the closet....

I think most Americans would be against the gov rescinding everyone's marriage and not making new couples marriages official... a non-legal marriage is pretty much useless if it's not legal as it holds no legal weight in next of kin, ect....
