I believe the Navy calls your MOS your NEC. I was in Marine Aviation . Did you go through aviation school at NAS Pensacola ?

Your rate is your rank but in the navy it seems to include your NEC or at least refference it. In the marines your MOS is a 4 digit number giving your military Occupational Specialty
In the Navy your NEC is a 3 digit code

By the way my father was a Chief and 20 year Navy man. I was practically brought up at NAS NY Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn.

 

I have no idea how those Navy kids deal with being below deck in a Nimitz Class Carrier when the Carrier is in the Tropics!!!

Being that your Navy are you aware exactly what happened during the whole ICE CREAM INCIDENT when a U.S. Admiral gave as a gift various flavors of ice cream in tubs to a Chinese PLN Group that sailed to Japan in an attempt to get the U.S. Navy to react....but the U.S. Navy ignored the PLN! LOL!!!

They tracked the PLN....but they did not overtly show any interest.

Are you aware of what happened?

I travel a lot all over because of what I do and am and I have gone to China quite a few times to the point of even being called a Gweilo!! LOL!!

Thus I have some Chinese friends one being an Officer in the PLN or Peoples Liberation Navy.

He told me the story of what I already knew but I wanted to hear it from him.

He told me that the Chinese Communist Party ordered the PLN to set off with their newly purchased Soviet made Carrier and some other PLN warships to Japan in an effort to both intimidate Japan over those disputed islands but the REAL purpose of this operation was to get the U.S. Navy to respond to a Chinese PLN Naval Group for the first time.

My friend told me..."It was embarrassing!! We were ordered to sail close near Japanese waters and close to the U.S. Navy's George Washington Strike Group and we were trying to tell the Communist Leadership that coming in that close to Japan only would make the American's laugh as doing that placed our Naval Group at the mercy of both Japanese and American Aircraft stationed in Japan as well place our navy at the mercy of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group."

He said....."We sailed all the way there and the American Navy did NOTHING!! They completely ignored us as if we were not even there. So we were given orders to come even closer so as we approached the U.S. Fleet an American Virgina Class Submarine just pops up and surfaces completely undetected by us and they signal to us they have a..."PRESENT"....for our Admiral."

He then said...."The American Sub submerged and on the surface they left a blown up survival raft and we sent out a small craft to look at it and then we watched as our craft brought this survival raft back to our carrier. Inside the American's had given us 8 large tubs of various flavored ICE CREAM with a note from the U.S. Fleet Commander that said....."Cool off and enjoy the ICE CREAM!"


My friend said the PLN Leadership were humiliated but they did serve the ice cream to the crew.

I went on board the Enterprise. They asked me if I wanted to volunteer for sea duty. One look at the bunking arrangements was enough to turn me off. Man its a long way to the water from the bridge

 

Like I said they use an NEC that is reflected in their rate. Seems you can tell a squids job by his rate unlike the Marines where all you see is our rank

Which...… brings us back to my theory on why perhaps we should begin rather serious discussion of the USA, Canada, Israel, England, Australia and our allies as a possible fulfillment of the "Beast" of Revelation chapter 13, so that we can initiate better central banking policy in order to maintain USA military leadership of this third rock?!!!!

To my thinking...… the whole thing depends on our relationship with Israel..... which can get even better in short order if we begin discussion of the financing of turning the nation of Jordan green.
