I think, and this is jsut my opinion, it shows when someone grows up in a hopeless situation, one where the local society will not fully accept them because they are somehow different in appearance, mannerism, or culturally, folks harbor resentment which manifests in a form where they will seek out those who will accept them for what others may despise.

It's time for you to stop watching the Fox network liars and to watch the real news media for the TRUTH:

Contrary to your mythological beliefs, your hero Bush has repeatedly attempted to defend his treasonous wars.

Same thing that makes joining a street gang appealing to a particular personality type. IMO, these young people are not doing this for religious reason at all, but rather to be part of something that has been sold to them as intriguing and glamorous thru ISIS use of social media and propaganda. I'm sure the heads of this street gang on steroids organization does not put themselves at risk and are just enriching themselves while selling snake oil to young and ignorant malcontented idiots, sadists and psychopaths. We've got snake oil salesman enriching themselves right here in the good old USA, but the difference is that have not sold it packaged in a street gang wrapping paper.

The problem is Islam. Where they're born is irrelevant.

I disagree the problem is poverty, education, and disenfranchisement. If Radical Islam was not offered as a solution it would be communism, anarchism, gangs, or whatever ideology tries to recruit the most vulnerable of a society.

Most of the terrorists are not poor or uneducated. Take Bin laden and the 911 terrorists for example

Ah but Bin Laden is not a radicalised youth. He was a military leader from a royal family. There is a large difference between the leaders of groups like ISIS (former Iraqi Military) and these newly minted militant youths. You will always find exceptions but we want to stop the major causes of the problem. So that means looking at the generic case study not the extraordinary examples. The bomb builders rarely strap bombs onto themselves. It is always the poor sucker that has nothing else to live for that dies for his cause.

Fox committed treason? Please cite your sources so we may verify your claims.

Your user name might need to change if you cannot provide these instances of Fox committing treason.

but just to prove a point, here is the same item on the Fox network:

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/2005/12/14/bush-defends-iraq-war-on-fnc.html

turns out Fox and Kos do agree - that should satisfy you that your hero attempted to defend his treasonous war

Just proves no amount of vetting will do any good, even if the Muslim is peaceful theres always the chance their children turn to Jihad and the way of Muhammad. There is only one safe measure and thats keep your Muslim population. Its the same the world over, the higher the percentage the more problems of which they have plenty of majority Muslim countries to practice their death cult in.

Those were the creme of the crop for Al qaeda. They chose the best of their best for that mission. Are you implying that the majority of all terrorists are of the caliber of the 9-11 hijackers? That all of the militants are wealthy and or educated?

Do we want to try and stop Islamic terrorism or not?

    Hee, hee, hee.

Amazing how so many retreat from their original position when they are proven wrong.

Bush is a traitor and defending him is treason.

Obama is an American citizen. But Obama has never looked upon himself as being an American but as a internationalist, a citizen of the world. His own words so they say.

Remember when Michelle Obama said she has never been proud of America until that day the uniformed voters decided to put a community organizer into the White House ?

    Aint 20-20 hind sight great!!

Nobody but G. W. Bush & Tony Blair thought that 'all ppl wanted freedom' and that was the answer to Iraq's ppl who were being persecuted (& executed) by a dictator.

And who were the ones celebrating the "Arab Springs" going on around the ME...recollection says the same Liberals who beat up Bush & Blair for trying to bring freedom to Iraq...

How conveniently we forget.. or try to cover our butts!

And two of them also owned a bar and smoke weed...so much for religion. These are people that would have joined street gangs if these gangs enticed and lured as ISIS has. There are many non-Muslims that have bought the ISIS snake oil.

    Crawdadr; et al,

    These are quasi-domestic terrorist.

    (COMMENT)

    A dissenting opinion.

These are Salafists; very different from terrorist organizations like Islamic Jihad, al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood.

Salafist groups are recruiting and radicalizing young Muslims under the guise of doing "mission work." "Salafists (including most of DAESH) spread their ideology imitating the more customary methods. Their representatives are effective at public discourse. Because Salafist preach and speak in terms that appeal to young people --- offering a profound enlightenment and a different direction to choose. It tends to capture and influence over the youths in general; including converts them to alter some basic beliefs in terms of radicalism.

The detection, exploitation and neutralization (DEN) of threat terrorist is the corn stone of counterterrorism. So in answer to your question, the answer is: YES --- "we want to try and stop Islamic terrorism." But we also realize that no counterterrorism policy or strategic plan can effectively STOP the perpetuation of terrorism without addressing conditions that are conducive to the spread of terrorism. Just saying that: "nothing can justify terrorism ever --- no grievance, no goal, no cause can excuse terrorist acts" (UN Secretary-General) is insufficient if the human component believes that the situation has become hopeless. And those are the exact conditions that set the stage for terrorist recruitment (including the ideological sale of Salafism).

    Most Respectfully,
    R
