    I love the argument Trump supporters are using in this discussion. The nation was already divided. Duh! It is not Trump's fault. Therefore, it is okay to thank his supporters and not do a thing to heal the divide.

    In this case I agree with Trump fans. That is exactly what Trump did and didn't do.

    He is the only President-elect to go on a two-week victory tour to thank his adoring fans, brag about his victory, and put down the majority of Americans who voted against him. He was outvoted to the tune of 2.8 million Americans. I cringe when I hear Trump represents America. He doesn't, not by a long shot.

    LOL, Hillary went on an apology tour to all of the big donors. She didn't even address her adoring fans when she lost.

    Right. Did you get the part where on his victory tour Trump put down the 65 million Americans who voted for Clinton? He agreed with Obama then did something totally different. He does that a lot, including saying one thing then changing his mind later.

    Pointing out how Trump is screwing things up is not whining. Actually, I am going to have a lot of fun over the next four years. Trump is a genuine screw-up. I just hope he is not stupid enough to get us into a shooting war with China or send 30,000 troops to the Middle East thinking he can destroy ISIS. Re the latter, been there, done that with woeful results.

    2.8 million Californios, some of whom are now talking about secession. Good riddance, somehw I don't thing ost of the rest of the country will do much more to combat such a move than sigh in relief.

    Nations [states] are not people. People are people. The preamble to the Constitution states:

    We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

    It doesn't say "We the states ...

    The people outvoted Trump by 2.8 million.

    You quoted me quite a lot, but didn't say a damn thing about what was stated. I'm guessing you couldn't. What I said was pretty factual. It is hard to argue with facts.

    That's a common theme with my critics. Most of the time they reply with non sequiturs or change the subject to Clinton or Obama when the topic is Trump.

    So, it is okay for Trump to just give up and not try to unite the country. One thing I have noticed is that Trump fans are forced to alibi for him a lot. It began during the campaign when we were told Trump wasn't a politician. He couldn't be taken seriously. It was sarcasm. He was only joking.

    You know what? That is bull manure. A man should be taken at his word, especially the President-elect. I take everything he says at face value. That is the way it should be, even when he is on a marvel-at-me tour putting down the 65 million Americans who did not vote for him.

    This is not about Obama and I am not an Obama apologist. Deal with what is said. Changing the subject is a sure sign of weakness.

    For the life of me I can't figure out what Hillary has to do with this conversation. When a discussion is about the latest Trump fiasco, invariably Trump fans change the subject. Why is that? Is it possible that Trump's activities are indefensible, forcing his fans to divert the conversation?

    Still another Trump fan who finds difficulty in dealing with what was said, changing the subject instead. These people are getting very predictable.

    Not one Trump fan replied to this. Why didn't they come to the defense of their hero? Is it because they know the truth? The tweets are childish and embarrassing.

    Trump had a habit of saying one thing one day, saying the opposite the next day and denying saying anything at all on the third during the primaries and general. I wasn't a Trump fan, but neither was I a fan of Hillary. I was against both of them. Polarization and partisanship have divided this country big time, regardless of who won that isn't about to change.

    Yes, but all of those statements are true.

    With regard to his "victory tour," I think it gave us another glimpse of Trump's insanity. He seems to have serious mental problems.

    You don't fight fire with fire, that just leaves everyone burned. Instead if you want real change then you got to be the very best version of you that you can be. You don't make positive changes when you do the things you despise others for doing. If you want to be better then that then by god be better. But whatever you do don't feed into the very thing that's played a part in dividing us all. That's just a tumor that will continue to grow if you do.

    Trump and his son, Eric, made up an issue out of thin air, assuming what critics might say. Eric said he would stop soliciting donations because he worried about the perception of buying access to his father. Rubbing in the loss of his services he added that his namesake foundation has raised more than $15 million for terminally ill children.

    Trump himself immediately tweeted, "My wonderful son, Eric, will no longer be allowed to raise money for children with cancer because of a possible conflict of interest with my presidency. Isn't this a ridiculous shame? He loves these kids, has raised millions of dollars for them, and now must stop. Wrong answer!"

    So, in other words, according to the Trumps and their twisted logic, their critics are responsible for the loss of millions in charity for terminally ill kids. No one has said anything about the Trump Foundation raising money for terminally ill kids and possible conflict of interest. Only Trump said that. Critics have commented on Trump's unwillingness to divest himself of his world-wide business interests and a possible conflict of interest or quid pro quo on steroids.

    I don't know if this was before or after he tried re-ignite the nuclear arms race. On that issue he tweeted, "The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes,"

    He has been on a twitter storm of late. There is some concern that he is going to enact a major change in policy when it comes to the press which he generally detests with the exception of Fox News. It is being suggested that he will use tweets, rallies with his adoring fans, and television interviews with friendly commentators to replace press conferences. Adding fuel to the fire of speculation is the fact that Trump has not had a press conference in 145 days. It is suggested that Trump prefers not to face the scrutiny of capable White House reporters.

    Trump has picked Sean Spicer as his press secretary. U.S. News reports, "Trump has not held a formal press conference since July, and reporters fear he plans to get rid of daily press briefings and otherwise curb access and transparency." Spicer's comment to that concern was weak, "What we've seen in government for so often is that people have been shady – about their roles, hiding things, not releasing things. We have a camera for goodness' sake. Every single person who enters Trump Tower, you get to see them go up, go down, they talk to the press." That is not exactly the White House press corps. Later he stated that Trump did not need press conferences. Trump and Spicer are missing the entire point. The American people need their President to face the press.

    Tell me something. When the conversation is about Trump, why is it Trump surrogates try to change the subject and never defend their hero?

    Whatever you do, don't try to tackle the subject of the OP. Change the subject, joke, videos, non sequiturs, anything but Trump's screw-ups.

    Dividing is the best possible solution. We're like two friends deciding whether to go out drinking or go home. One wants to paint the town red, and the other wants to go home to his family. How can these two friends be united?

    Quite simply, they can't be united. Maybe tomorrow night, but tonight we're going to have to go our separate ways. The only problem is that the friend that wants to get drunk wants to do it on my dime. He can't do it without my financial support.

    That's an insurmountable difference, and why my friends on the left resort to the power of the state. That's the loaded gun saying "give it or we'll take it".

    Review the comments by Trump fans on this thread. Note the number of times they change the subject to anything but Trump. Actually, Trump's fans are the ones unraveling. They are unable to defend their hero.
