Yes, I suppose those are valid concerns, although I'm inclined to believe Trump when he says he's not interested in nation building and/or getting involved militarily in various areas of the world. And honestly, if your concern is that the Generals would be trigger happy, I would argue just the opposite: it's often the case that people high up in the chain of command are the last folks who want to get involved militarily (unless there is a very clear military objective that's been spelled out). So I'm not as concerned about having retired military in the cabinet (heck, if/when the feces hits the fan, I for one will be quite happy that President Trump will be getting input from the likes of James "Mad Dog" Mattis, John Kelly, and Michael Flynn. I believe President Trump is going to have his hands full with domestic concerns, he's not going to be looking for troubles overseas. (Which is not to say that troubles will not be looking for him...).

Those comments are straight our of Trump's campaign playbook. Here is some reality for you.

Today, Trump unleashed a twitter storm about last month's election which he won six weeks ago.

In a series of tweets fired off in a 15-minute-span shortly before 8:30 a.m. ET, Trump said Hillary Clinton had lost the general election because she "focused on the wrong states" and claimed he would have still beaten his Democratic opponent even if there was no Electoral College, despite the fact that he lost to her in the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes.

The President-elect tweeted (geez, that sounds so childish), "Campaigning to win the Electoral College is much more difficult & sophisticated than the popular vote. Hillary focused on the wrong states!"

Two minutes later he tweeted (now that's beginning to sound ridiculous), "I would have done even better in the election, if that is possible, if the winner was based on popular vote - but would campaign differently."

Moments later, he tweeted (now it is ridiculous and superfluous), "I have not heard any of the pundits or commentators discussing the fact that I spent FAR LESS MONEY on the win than Hillary on the loss!"

A day earlier, he had tweeted a similar message, aimed at Bill Clinton, after the former President told a local Westchester County paper that Hillary Clinton lost the race due to Russian meddling and FBI Director James Comey's decision to reopen the probe into her private email server days before the election.

Trump tweeted Tuesday that the former President and his wife botched her campaign by having "focused on the wrong states" and misusing an "unlimited budget."

His braggadocio and arrogance is both childish and embarrassing. My God, this man is the President-elect of the United States. He acts like an incoming president of a college frat house.

All the military men are retired. That is consistent with the law. I was happy to clear up your confusion.

Meh, the only division comes from the butthurt liberals that can't accept a free and fair election.

Trump cannot unite a divided nation when the division involves people like you. For your team would never do it. So what is the point of your OP?

You guys should go and lick your wounds for 8 years and stay out of the way so trump can start fixing the broken system like a goal oriented CEO does. YOu guys can then gripe about how he a racist because he is looking out for working people, who are mostly white. While all he is doing is helping out those who work for a living.

There is nothing to get over, and I have a good life. Thank you.

I am curious about something. Whenever writers are dealing with Trump and the really dumb things he does, his fans always say, "Get over it. Get real. Get a life." Or they change the subject to Clinton or Obama. Why is that?

True, the nation was/is divided. I said that. It is one thing to thank his supporters. It is quite another to put down the 65 million voters who chose Clinton. His braggadocio was arrogant, childish, and totally unnecessary. And stupid, he lost the popular vote by 2.8 million votes. He made the divide worse, and you think that is okay.

The two are unrelated beginning with the fact that Obama visited those nations after he became President. Also, he visited those nations after the United States wrongfully invaded another country. Perhaps an apology was in order.

Tell me something. Why do you endorse a victory tour that further divides our country? That is the topic of this discussion, not anything Obama did. Changing the subject is a sign of weakness. Deal with the subject at hand.

You know nothing about me. You do not know that when the election was over I wished Trump the best. But he keeps doing dumb things. The OP was about one of them. His victory tour was designed to further divide our nation. You should be concerned about that instead of maligning someone you don't even know. If the facts in the OP were wrong, then address them, not attack me.

I hope Trump succeeds. I really do. I hope he is so successful that he is re-elected in 2020. But to do this he must unite the country, not divide it, and stop doing dumb stuff. Just today he went on a twitter storm bragging about his election victory. That was after a twitter battle with Bill Clinton. That's childish. He is the President-elect. He should act like one.

    - - - Updated - - -

Tell me how the OP went wrong.

Excellent post, and I hope you are right. Your user name is a misnomer. You are anything but silly.

Unlike you, I am a bit wary because I take a man, especially a President-elect, at face value. It is a fault I have. Why has he appointed five military men, four of them retired generals, in key posts like NSA, deputy NSA, SecDef, and DHS. There has to be a reason.

Also, there is what he has said. “My administration will aggressively pursue joint and coalition military operations to crush and destroy ISIS.” Trump has proposed putting 30,000 troops in Iraq and Syria to defeat ISIS. He has expressed naivete. "As far as Syria, if Putin wants to go and knock the hell out of ISIS, I am all for it, 100%, and I can't understand how anybody would be against it." Putin isn't fighting ISIS. He is attacking the Syrian rebels in support of Assad. The only time Russian forces engage ISIS are the rare occasions in which they are supporting Syrian forces.

His naivete regarding Russia is scary. Regarding China, I don't think he knows what he is doing yet, but he better be careful. China holds the bulk of our treasury notes. I don't want to think about what would happen if they got pissed and cashed those in.

Anyway those are my concerns. I know he is opposed to nation-building, but nation-building isn't one of my concerns.

It was a commercially available drone collecting ocean temperature data. That's why Trump changed his mind. However, with that being said, Trumps Inauguration is still 30 days away, what's Obama doing about it?

Uh Wrong, but at least you're consistent. Trump is a reflection of the divide in America not a cause of it. HIs carefully styled thank you tour at which he has issued effusive thanks to his supporters at every stop, may be galling to the Hillary sycophants, but it is not increasing the divide which was obviously already far larger then the Hillary sycophants in the Media guessed well before the election.

Why not? Millions of people voted for him why shouldn't he thank them? You and liberals/democrats are the ones dividing the country, Trump and Obama both said after the election we have to come together as Americans. Right?

It's been divided for years, and I don't see a way towards any unification. The left has been quite adamant that they don't mind threatening me with prison if I don't pay for their stuff via stupid taxes.

When somebody points a gun at you, there is no hugging afterwards.

I could handle disagreements. What I can't handle are the guns being pointed at me. They have done that repeatedly, so now it's war.

He's busy nailing things down so the incoming democratically elected terrorist regime (like HAMAS but with actual rockets) cannot undo it all.

This country amounts to 50 nations rolled up into a ball.

Trump won 30, and Clinton won 20

Seems to me he won 60 percent and she won 40 percent

This really is why this country has the electoral college.

Yes, uniting this nation would be great. Last time it was united it was united with George W. Bush.

This nation has been divided for quite a long time. The only time recently it came together was right after 9-11 and that didn't last long. Whether Clinton or Trump won this most negative and hate filled election, the country would still be divided as it has never been. That isn't about to change any time soon.

I recall before Obama took office him in Berlin at the Victory Tower, shooting his face off.

Many of us support G. W. Bush yet Obama kept making us angry shooting his mouth off against the man.

Listen to the sycophant media discuss then citizen Obama.

Obama ... We could defeat Communism, but we can stand with the Muslims .....

In other words, the first time he tweeted he didn't know what he was talking about. I can agree with that.
