Only some atheists claim that they have evidence God doesn't exist. Many others like myself just find no evidence for God and don't have a reason to believe in him. So we say that we don't believe in God. Many of these atheists identify as agnostics as well.
I deny it as easily as I 'deny the existence' of the aforementioned Big Foot etc. Until such time as one shows up, there is no reason to suppose they're lurking. And FTR, no, we don't know that 'Jesus was real and actually lived', we simply have an old book which claims he did. And as you point out, even if he did, he was merely human. Not much, I think you'll agree. There's more evidence for Bigfoot.
I am not sure what do you mean. If you mean that you lack any beliefs which are not rooted in reality or contradict physical laws or a plain illogical, like the belief that one cannot prove negative as an example, you have to prove that it is possible. In any case you have to be intellectually honest. If you come to this subforum and insert yourself into a conversation about existence of God I dare to say that you exercise intellectual dishonesty. You certainly have a position in relation to existence/nonexistence of God, you wouldn't be here if it was otherwise. In any case you have to be intellectually honest if you want to please yourself.
Let me give the text one more time so you can compare it with what you replied to and see that you didn't reply to the text: What surpasses all that is finite and transfinite ... is the single, completely individual unity in which everything is included, which includes the Absolute, incomprehensible to the human understanding. This is the Actus Purissimus, which by many is called God. As you can see the single, completely individual unity you decided to rename with absolutely no justification for doing that is not only pointed to but is also well described. I don't know if this may clarify the text for you: The actual infinite arises in three contexts: first when it is realized in the most complete form, in a fully independent otherworldly being, in Deo, where I call it the Absolute Infinite or simply Absolute; second when it occurs in the contingent, created world; third when the mind grasps it in abstracto as a mathematical magnitude, number or order type. The fear of infinity is a form of myopia that destroys the possibility of seeing the actual infinite, even though it in its highest form has created and sustains us, and in its secondary transfinite forms occurs all around us and even inhabits our minds. (Also it is the answer for the question many limited minds ask: Who created God? You may use the above to satisfy their inquiry.)
Why do you post without reading my replies? You are here which is the proof that you do have a position on gods. You see I have no position on economics and I am never on that sub-forum.
I did read your reply and I asked you a question created by your statement, now you can you answer it? I will judge what position I have not you.
I don't believe gods exist, for the same reasons I don't believe Santa or Bigfoot exists. Of these, Bigfoot is by far the most plausible, IMO.
Cantor goes into some details of what was a common knowledge of Xn theology. Creating one of most fundamental mathematical theories he all over suddenly run into God, which happens as a rule with other great minds, creators of fundamental physical and mathematical theories . I am guilty as charged but it is so entertaining to see atheists taking on the greatest minds that sometimes I cannot help myself.
you have everything in common with believers in X, they don't believe Santa or Bigfoot exists. Are you a Xn?
1. I don't believe you, because if you had no position on gods you would be on this subforum in the same way as I am never on economics subforum. 2. All people form beliefs. You have to prove you are an exclusion. For instance I believe in Xn God and that makes me free of all other beliefs. People who don't believe in God have to make up for that by forming all kinds of other beliefs. I hope you will not make me type the 4th time.
By the way he did not suddenly run into god! What a welcome relief this must have been to the chronically depressed Cantor! As John D. Barrow writes in The Infinite Book: A Short Guide to the Boundless, Timeless and Endless, Cantor "started to tell his friends that he had not been the inventor of the ideas about infinity that he had published. He was merely a mouthpiece, inspired by God to communicate parts of the mind of God to everyone else."https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Georg_Cantor This is entertaining.
What you believe is of no import to me, I know what I believe you do not. Fact! First you will have to prove the assertion all people form beliefs, specifically about gods. You have done nothing to convince me to have anything but a lack of belief in gods.
