In return for Trump signing a $350 billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia, king Salman awarded Trump its highest civilian honor: the King Abdulaziz al Saud Collar and medal. Lockheed Martin President Marillyn Hewson praised the deal as one that will bolster the relationship between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia and “strengthen the cause of peace in the region.” https://mishtalk.com/2017/05/20/tru...eal-in-history-saudi-king-awards-trump-medal/
Liberals will find something wrong with this deal. Give Iran, a country that shouts death to America, billions of dollars so they can develop missiles and the liberals applaud it. Generate income and jobs for Americans and you will go on the liberal shitlist.
Just to clear up something, the cash that was given to Iran were their own assets that we previously froze in order to incentivize them to sign the nuclear deal. They signed the deal, they upheld their end of the bargain, we unfrozen the assets. As to this deal, there are reasons to be concerned - namely the indiscriminate bombing in Yemen (or "war crimes") that this arms deal will undoubtedly boost and the potential Jared Kushner corruption issue - but those seem unlikely to raise a tremendous amount of backlash.
The US and Saudi Arabia agree to keep the peace! Donal;d Trump is the first president in US history to be awarded the medal
Your neighbor said he hates you and was going to burn your house down, if he knocked on your door to ask for the matches he left at your house would you return them?
It means the US has ratified the Saudi fight in Yemen.. After all they do have the right to defend themselves from Yemeni border crossings.
I think Obama was given one also. This is the second time this has come up today. Maybe I should look it up to see if I'm actually correct...
Obama was awarded nothing by Saudi Arabia, he didn't get along with the Saudis. Obama was a divider, not a uniter like Trump! Obama screwed up his relationship with Russia also, just as a side note.
Defend themselves from Yemeni border crossings? That's their justification for their involvement in the civil war?
The al Houthis overthrew the government and they want control of the Bab al Mandab. The Houthis are funded by Iran. Too many suicide bombers getting into KSA. The SAG moved all villages back from the border 20 kilometers and set up a pretty sophisticated security along the border. I am surprised the Saudis didn't act sooner. This has been going on since 2002.
They gave one to Obama, Bush, and Clinton. Trump proudly received his medal proclaiming "I could be President of Saudi Arabia. It would be amazing! And I may not want to go home again so we should talk"
The Saudis treated Donald Trump like royalty, with red carpets, lavish meals and American flags flying everywhere. They repeatedly used the word “historic” to describe his visit, gave him a medal, projected a multistory image of his face on the side of the palatial Ritz-Carlton hotel where he was staying, and treated him to a colorful dance display in which his staff joined in with scores of white-robed Saudis and even the president swayed back and forth. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/20/world/middleeast/donald-trump-saudi-arabia.html?_r=0 “We are closely coordinating our efforts in terms of how to counter Iran’s extremism and its export of extremism,” Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson said at a joint news conference in Riyadh with Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi foreign minister. Mr. Jubeir praised Mr. Trump for renewing ties between the two countries, and pointed to the “extremely, extremely productive and historic visit.”
Trump didn't drop the ball. He'll make sure that 350 billion $ will end up in his own pocket. Believe me, he'll try. We've just witnessed the greatest heist in human history! (Followed, no doubt, by the downfall of a leader greater than that of Hitler as Trump will be impeached and then imprisoned for robbing a country. Because, you know, Trump is stupid enough to be caught out on it.) Just a prediction which may sound far fetched but hey; With Trump we have long since left the realm of reason...
