Sad, isn't it? He's wrong AND he doesn't want to learn. Jeffersonian Republicans were the original Democrats.
I thought about this and came to the conclusion god was the first Republican 1. He helps those that help themselves! 2. He smites people. 3. He believes in god. 4. He gave us free will. 5. He's not PC. 6. He knows there's only 2 genders. 7. He knew 10% was the right tax rate. 8. He didn't use a committee to get planning permission when he created the universe.
Its about starting with a premise and then trying to fit the facts into that premise rather than adjusting one's premise to fit the facts.
Jesus provided DUTIES of man and advised individuals to OBEY Caesar. Calling that "individual liberty" or freedom from Caesar is hilarious! He taught that ALL MANKIND were sinners - NOT unique in ANY way that mattered to Jesus or God. The largest advance in government came with splitting government away from religion. Nothing novel in the American revolution can possibly be traced to the Bible, regardless of the religions of individual leaders. Jesus taught LOVE even for our enemies, demonstrating that love in his every action. Today, Republicans work to CUT support for the downtrodden and broadcast serious disrespect and even hate for those who don't have white skin, English language, or are simply from another land. There is NOTHING of Jesus in ANY of that. Today, we have: "Suffer the little children to come unto me ..." vs. "If the little children come unto me, they will suffer."
Bull. Jesus directed his followers to toady to Caesar. And, as for religion he directed his people to worship God and follow God's direction. The message of Jesus is DUTY, not rights or freedom.
.Absolutely, but Returdlickers cannot, because they hate everyone that doesn't look and act exactly like them.
You are totally wrong to interpret liberals as opposed to individual liberty. Just the opposite. Liberals labor against every element trying to limit individual liberty based on minority status, gender, or color of skin. Liberals want liberty to spread, but to all persons equally under law.
Thessalonians was written by Paul, not Jesus. Paul was a Palestinian Jew and a Roman citizen, and as such, reflected the dominant Roman attitude on law, social organization, and behavior. The early Christian church was founded mostly on Paul's writings and teachings, not Jesus'. They're not the same. Jesus stressed love and compassion; Paul's message was often more in an organizational vein. I can't imagine Jesus as the first Republican. He was neither political nor self-serving, which are both core elements of Republicans today.
actually liberty means liberty from govt. The American Revolution was about liberty from powerful liberal govt. The purpose of our Constitution was to insure liberty by keeping govt tiny. Now do you understand?
no he directed them to toady to God and Caesar thus cutting liberal Roman govt in half and paving the way to Locke Jefferson America and individual liberty. Now do you see the track of Western History?
Jesus said each person was loved by God and was not a mere slave in the liberal Roman collective and as such had responsibility for his own life, behavior, and his own relationship with God. The 10 Commandments was about how each individual was to behave. But firstly, the individual was given the freedom to accept or reject God. This was the transformation of the human psyche that led to Locke Jefferson and Republican America. Now do you understand?
totally wrong of course, liberals want govt to spread, the opposite of liberty!! Notice how liberty and govt are seen as opposites. Seems you got it backwards which is what liberals naturally do. And worse, they are very bigoted about it feeling deep in their hearts that they are morally superior Thomas Jefferson: "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."
actually Jesus advised to obey Caesar and God thus cutting the Roman state in half, avoiding immediate execution. and paving the way to American where the state was cut far further. Now do you see the arc of history?
100% liberal and mistaken. Jesus taught that God loved every individual and every individual had a responsibility to be worthy of Gods love. This was the birth of liberty on earth. Previously individuals were mere slaves in the Roman empire. Now do you understand?
absurd, when Christianity took over the Roman empire civilization began. Do you think Caesar taught the 10 Commandments or conquered, plundered and enslaved much of the world?. Christians created morality on earth!
You mean they cut support for welfare entitlements that have done more to harm blacks, for example, than slavery ever did. Now do you understand?
