Practical discussion: gun storage

Suicide rates have little to do with tools used for suicide. Japan's suicide rate (all means) is higher than our combined murder and suicide rate (all means), despite the fact that Japan has draconian gun restrictions.

 

No you don't need anything else. Except evidence. Idaho also does not make the top ten of low gun death states. The ones that do all have strict gun control. States with the lowest suicides also have strict gun control. The evidence is overwhelming

Oh yeah. We all know that the places with the strictest gun control have the lowest gun deaths.

I mean places like Washington DC and Maryland are bastions of safety. Cities like Chicago, LA and Oakland are completely safe. Literally zero gun violence in any of those areas.

 

Suicide is a mental health problem.

 

That's correct. And as a mental health expert I am well aware of the connection between gun control and suicides.

Luckily I don't live in NY, so I don't have to worry about anyone suiciding me.

Never really had much concern over someone committing suicide against me, quite honestly.

 

The member Vegas Giants claims to be an expert on the matter of mental health. Yet in previous discussions has refused to believe it is possible the individual behind this account is devoid of emotions, and incapable of being driven to engaging in an emotional response when subject to provocation.

 

Most countries in Central and South America rank high on the Corruptions Perception Index. I don't think we should assume that corrupt governments do a very good job of enforcing their gun laws.

 

Lets take murder rates. 13 out of the top 15 murder rate states all have lax gun control. Why?

No I get it.

For gun control to work, you need a population that doesn't want to kill each other, and a government that holds killers accountable.

That explains why there's so much gun violence in Democrat cities.

 

And works great in democrat states

That's why I generally use gun deaths. The numbers are very consistent

 

Gun control can work in Democrat cities. Look at NYC and its phenomenal drop in homicide. Chicago has a much higher homicide rate but most crime guns in Chicago are trafficked from neighboring states with lax gun laws.

The areas in the US with the most Democrats have the most violence.

Seems the murder rate and Democrat county maps overlap huh?

You worried about someone suiciding you?

 

Gun control has no effect on non-gun deaths one way or the other. So the gun death rate is the more relevant statistic.

 

Makes you wonder why the crime rate is lower in the places the people in Chicago get their guns from huh?

I'm worry about our heroes who fight for this country and die at a rate of two a day by suicide mostly with guns.

Yeah I worry about those guys a lot.

 

Guns make already existing problems worse. It's like adding gasoline to a fire. If you add gasoline to where there is no fire then nothing happens.
