It'll supercharge the Mexican economy as sales of ladders, grappling hooks, vaulting poles, and shovels soar, but most will just opt for the already far more popular alternative of entering the US legally and overstaying visas.

Why would anyone put a shlock-tv performer in charge of designing border policy, a matter in which he has no experience or expertise whatsoever?

So EVERY SINGLE person who isn't blind or afraid of heights and tunnels will successfully enter the US undetected? Surely you can't be serious!

And what about the pieces of human waste who have committed crime in the US and have been deported back to where they belong? Do they simply re-enter the US legally? Be honest now, if that's possible.

So you're happy to lower yourself to those that you refer to as the RW who go on about the deep state?

Interesting, I hadn't heard this before. Don't walls equally keep people in and out?

Some are detected every day, haven't you heard? If your question is will more be detected because of the wall? Perhaps, a tiny few. Would more be detected by a smart wall, better facilities at entry points, better paid border agents and a better funded coast guard. Absolutely, far far more than a wall would.

Those convicted of serious crimes in the US, both legal and illegal residents, are routinely imprisoned in the US.

Most illegal residents achieve that status by entering the US legally and overstaying visas.

Serious opponents of illegal immigration recognize that Trump's $5.7 billion "big, beautiful wall" that he repeatedly promised Mexico would pay for and that a Republican-controlled Congress refused to fund for two years - and that most Americans do not want - is a dumb allocation of taxpayer money.

Reality-tv performers are not the best folks to be designing the nation's border security.

Nope. Walls are far better at keeping people in.
A bandit wants to sneak into your property you don't see them until they're over the wall. On the other hand you can see them tryng to get out on their way up.
    Worked in Berlin.

Trump's "big, beautiful wall" that he promised Mexico would pay for, that Republicans in control of Congress refused to fund for two years, and that most Americans do not want, has become a juju of mythical proportions for disciples of trumpery, much like the golden fleece, the philosopher's stone, or the holy grail.

There is absolutely NO RESTRICTIONS on contraceptives. NONE!!! You can buy condoms everywhere or get a prescription to the pill from any OB. Abortion has been legal for decades. Yes, its not free, but &$*#(@), theres a limit. Sure you can't suck a baby out a few weeks before its born just because you get cold feet, because that is kind of sick. And I'm a HUGE proponent of abortion. But you're stating LIES. Trying to equate welfare with religion is absurd. You are grasping at some mighty huge straws there buddy=) We can't stop stupid people from doing stupid things and having unprotected sex, before you have your life in order is THE DUMBEST thing a human can do. More so for the women because THEY have to deal with it more than the stupid guy who can cut and run.

I'm all for handing out free abortions, but after the 2nd one, you get castrated. Its a fair trade off to me. 1 strike for an accident. After that, you're a moron who doesn't deserve to breed. If you want to pay for it yourself, have as many as you want. Free will baby. But if everyone else is paying, you need consequences.

I oppose a steel slab. I support a double linked fence with electric, technological advances that may work and a dirt road along the outside and is 99.9 percent successful in Israel, according to Trump. Trump got the wall idea, without any thought, from Stone and others to give him a good topic-immigration control. He has not contacted any experts on the matter and has stated that
"nobody knows more about technology as me" which makes as much sense as his "I know more than the generals" and his comment that he could shoot someone in the street and still maintain his base support. The 5.7 billion dollars is only the down payment, may cost well into the many billions of dollars, and may not be effective. Most drugs and criminals come in thru entry points and we need to shore those up with technology and people. Migrants will go around if they are determined in my view.

The poor are hoarding all the money. That’s whats creating this huge deficit. If only we could get them to get off their lazy buttocks and find a job working in coal mine or MacDonald's for 60 hours a week, they’d be too tired to have kids. This is the GOP solution...sounds like a plan.

The Israeli concept of building walls works only if we go to war with Mexico.

Isn’t that medically impossible to do. How does one get castrated after they have two abortions.

Just look at which way the guards are facing and how the wire is strung at the top.

Why are you assuming that there will be nothing "smart" about the wall?

True. It is not the Republican solution, but it is the party of Trump solution.

No, I don't think so. The migrants are peaceful for the most part, but it may help with the cartels. We don't know whether a wall will work either. The only 'expert'
    apparently is Trump.

    That's a thoughtless statement.

Walls don't care what the reason is for the person's desire to enter.

Ask someone in prison whether it was easier to get in or easier to get out.

Blaming the poor, including the working poor, has been a staple of GOP complaints of too much money in welfare for decades.

Wrong. Israel confiscated all lands needed for the wall, they don’t hesitate to shoot through the wall and they patrol and pursue people on the Palestinian side as they are on a war time footing with the Palestine . Plus...we paid for the wall.
Our wall might work if we put a standing Army on both sides of a wall and declared war with Mexico.
