They subpoena'd his phone records BEFORE he gave them the redacted ones and the redacted numbers were one of the brothers. They were playing him

Once they had the numbers and worked out they left US hours after the attack I'm sure it wasn't hard.

 

One report I saw said that their names and numbers were redacted from the phone list he turned in. Police however were able to subpoena the original phone records and compare the two. It does not appear that Jussie is all that bright.
