Your second claim is correct - A congress dominated by Red - with a Red President on office - raised spending.

This happens on both the Left and the Right - unfortunately. That it happens so often is sad sad commentary on the human condition.

We are raising a generation of ignorant brainwashed sheep. 12 years of school and we manage not to teach the basics of Philosophy - Logic, Logical Fallacy, what constitutes a valid argument, Critical Thinking.

We teach kids to Obey and Follow. We teach then "what to think" not how to think.

I have had many discussions with Teachers on this topic. Many - being on the front lines - are more disgusted than I am. They are highly restricted. Many others however typify what one Teacher said to me - "Well - we don't want kids arguing with us" ... not joking.

Appealing to willful blindness is exactly what the poster is doing. The poster is pretending not to understand - and is in full on denial of the simple fact that the Special Prosecutor is given special powers - including the ability to violate civil liberties in ways that are not normally allowed.

This is on the level of denying that water is wet.
