Wright is a New Testament scholar, Pauline theologian, and retired Anglican bishop.so I would expect his evaluation to follow his path, I was referring to the Historian, archeologist and scholars you claimed....not Christian theologists. Please list the "Hundreds more" without the religionists.
Jeannette we also have to remember that the Bible itself doesn’t contend one way or another if the flood was regional or local just like it doesn’t make clear whether the world was created in a short time or an indefinite time period because there are words in Hebrew that have multiple meanings like the one translated in genesis for day . It’s called YOM and YOM can mean a literal 24 hour day or an indefinte time period . I would suggest reading stuff from Kent Hovind who distorts science to fit in with his young earth view and then reading from another pastor like high Ross who teaches the earth is 4.4 billion years old and make up your own mind which is more Accurate to scripture
Tecoyah are you saying that because they are religious people that they can’t give an expert opinion on their expert field ?? Are you really saying this ? Would you use this argument for evolutionary biologists cause you do realize that a large majority of them are atheists right ? Except for Kenneth miller whose a Darwinist and still a practicing Catholic . What we need is to follow the consensus of experts in the field regardless of their religious beliefs or based on this view we should throw out all science and history . Me for example , my evolutionary views are closest to Michael behe as he’s a believer in evolution but with a twist he believes in common descent , and natural selection but instead of random mutations he’s a believers in directed mutations . Gurd Luddiman is a New Testament scholar and historian and he’s an atheist . He believes most of the historical evidences for Jesus are strong including the Empty tomb but because he’s an atheist and naturalist refuses to believe in the resurrection even though the historical evidence for it are quite good. He doesn’t believe in miracles
Correct Paul cause by definition a miracle is rare and violates the laws of nature but even I don’t like the word supernatural and miracle and I’ll explain why . Both are explanations of things we don’t have the knowledge for yet .to us these things are miracles but to God these are very natural events . Plus when we say miracles violate the laws of nature they only violate the known laws of nature , they could only that there are future laws we haven’t discovered yet . As Pope Francis says God isn’t some magician with magical powers . He’s simply a being that possessses all knowledge . But to us I can see how he would look magical
Bart erhman is a testament scholar and critique that studied under one of the best New Testament scholars of our time . Bart was a Christian and then later became an anti Christian scholar that went against his original path . Not all scholars follow the path of their youth . Some do though so I can see a part of your point . I was raised a Christian , almost became Buddhist , then became an atheist then came back to Christianity . Many more people these days are honestly seeking the truth . I can thank atheists in a way for pushing me to question my upbringing .
I am asking him for the list he claimed to have. But I would and do find a Bishops opinion on the shroud to be dubious at best and would question the validity of most Christians in this, as they inherently have a biased mentality.
Do you really think that corpses return to life? Maybe you have been watching too many zombie movies.
The Earth has a very long history = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowball_Earth. There was no worldwide flood during biblical times. That is a fact.
Maybe I understood you, my response was intended as for those who support my view of how we got the NT. Whatever the issue, I reject your premise that we can't listen to Christians because they are 'biased'. By that yardstick, we have to reject atheists as having an inherently biased mentality. There has already been presented here a former atheist who investigated the Shroud, and because of the evidence became a Christian. So by your reasoning once he made that switch, we can't listen to him?
Yes there is, in the pre-flood state of flatter topography. Our current mountains were pushed up, evidenced by marine fossils at the top of Mt. Everest. https://creation.com/where-did-all-the-water-go
That occurred hundreds of million of years ago over tens of millions of years. Even then there is insufficient water on this planet not to mention the many, many other problems the Noah story has. For instance: How did Kangaroos hop to the Middle East? What did those seven people do with hundreds of tons of poop everyday? How did they keep the lions from eating the pigs? Where did Asians and Africans come from? That's a small start...answer those and I have more questions.
No doubt the refuse was thrown overboard, and the lions were separate. Jesus believed in a literal Noah. Want do discuss the OP now? If not, that itself is telling. You're pulling the 'kitchen sink' trick, when atheists can't refute an argument, in this case the Shroud, they bring up everything else.
No, there is not enough water on earth. And lol at creation.com as a source of scientific information.
ROME (Reuters) - An Italian scientist says he has reproduced the Shroud of Turin, a feat that he says proves definitively that the linen some Christians revere as Jesus Christ’s burial cloth is a medieval fake. https://www.google.com/search?q=the...ome..69i57.15016j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
One person might shovel a Ton a day....maybe. So do the math. And Okay, the lions were separate (as well as the other thousands of predators) so where did they store their food? Are you sure you wish to discuss the OT...talking snakes, Mud men Lilith and every thing else?
and experts refute claim https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/...ientists_claim_of_reproducing_shroud_of_turin
and I read that the Shroud image is unique in this world in having 3D information in a 2D image... (billions of data points) Look for it yourselves.. I've post it already.
