    The only people who didn’t know this was going to happen are Democrats. Everyone else that can see the world without the TDS goggles KNEW this was coming. The fbi is simply an arm of the criminal democrats and it’s being exposed little by little. All they seem to have is lies, manipulation, and corruption to try and get their way. It’s astounding some people actually still trust them and believe they are the party of the people lmao(they aren’t).

    I can see that we are once again divided along political lines. As for Gen. Flynn, who has my undying gratitide for his service.

    He pleaded guilty to 18 USC 1001.

    Note the term "material" that wins its way through the statute. It means that if you lie about something, it has to be about something significant to the investigation:

    To establish materiality as an element, it is sufficient that the statement have the capacity or a natural tendency to influence the determination required to be made. See Id.; United States v. Lueben, 838 F.2d 751, 754 (5th Cir. 1980 United States v. Allen, 892 F.2d 66, 67 (10th Cir. 1989). One often cited test for materiality appears in United States v. Weinstock, 231 F.2d 699, 701 (D.C. Cir.) ....

    Thus, the test for materiality under 18 U.S.C. § 1001 is not whether the false statement actually influenced a government function, but whether it had the capacity to influence. Lueben, 838 F.2d at 754; United States v. Lichenstein, 610 F.2d 1272, 1278 (5th Cir. 1980).

    This question is supposed.to be submitted to a jury, because the litigants often argue about materiality.

    I think this is a tragic case because Flynn was embarrassed about the contact with the Russian, not because it was criminal, but because it was controversial a d he knew it would embarrass the administration.

    Unfortunately, the lie went to the heart of the investigation into collusion, but ironically, there was nothing there, and so nothing to lie about!

    Wrong. Flynn knows too much and had to be fired, discredited, shamed, and beat down as to be afraid to open his mouth. The FBI even threatened to go after his family FFS. Flynn had to be out of the picture for the Russian collusion conspiracy theory to continue.

    Great post on the specificity of the law that was charged, and how the collapsed Russian Collusion narrative means in effect, he didn't do anything wrong. Put him back as NSA, and let's start draining some swamps.

    I do not pretend to know the US Judicial System well, but how does the case get 'dropped' after a plea of guilty has been entered? Does that plea not first have to be set aside, and if it is...then the charges can be dropped.

    You know what is a crime? Lying to a federal judge. Mueller’s prosecutor repeatedly told the judge he complied with his order and turned over all Brady evidence...apparently he didn’t

    He has broken them, completely and irreversibly.

    They are even willing to vote for BIDEN (lol...) despite how he is everything they used to claim to be against. They no longer exist as a party with its own goals and strong morality...they are the party of anti Trump no matter what.

    Even if Trump some how loses in 2020 due to TDS, the dem party has weakened itself in the long run.

    Feels good. Trump has really done such a good job on so many fronts, including breaking the dems.
